That'd be about 50-250 pounds lighter than the current model, depending on trim level. I wouldn't even be mad. Am I secretly hoping for 3600? Yeah, but I'm not expecting miracles.

2015 Camaro SS is coming in at 3900 Lb, so the 200 lb puts it down to 3700 to match the new 5.0 mustang. I know it'll be a huge improvement for the Camaro, but yeah... I'm still dreaming of 7/8ths Stangs and Camaros along the size of the FRS.

They already stated weight savings will be ~200lbs.

Current 2SS is 3935 so a safe estimate would be the new version ~3750lbs

It's hard to say from those pictures, but I think I like the taillights on the MY15 more.

I've been following this from the first spy shot, pretty much the same as I did with the 5th gen. It turned out exactly as I expected... but not to my liking, not cosmetically on the outside anyway. My wife saw the photos this morning and her first words were "where's the beef?" The quarter panels look odd now with the Cadillac-esque treatment, they look like they are missing some muscle/beef.

The huge bottom grill just makes me think of the new camry, and I haven't liked what they do with the fasica itself just to shrink the top grill since the refresh. It looks like the fascia is weathered and the middle is bulging up (not a natural line). But overall it just looks like a bunch of different people adding different lines to it, just to make it different than the last generation. I know I'm biased, but the last generation was designed by 1 extremely talented artist, which lead to 1 beautiful prototype that GM followed almost to the 'T'.

I'm certain this generation will out 'perform' the last, it damn well better... but outsell, I have my doubts.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro - Official

From the article:
Don't be fooled by its familiar appearance, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is vastly different than its iconic predecessors. It has a new chassis, a fresh engine lineup, and is loaded with clever technologies that promise to invigorate and improve the sixth generation of Chevy's legendary sports car. It was revealed Saturday before a crowd of enthusiastic Camaro revelers on Belle Isle in Detroit.

Official site is here.

have to say, I like the side profile much better than the current model. Even though its two inches shorter, the proportions are better...

I hope the SS looks better in person, because based on the pictures it is decidedly 2nd to the simpler RS in terms of looks. And if the pic above is indicative of anything the marketing department thinks so too. But then again it sounds like the performance will go a long way in making up for its ugly duckling looks.

I want an SS in blue... Think I know what I'm trading my FRS in for once the 2017 model comes out. (To wait for them to fix any bugs on 2016)
