Top gear USA
Watched it last night, just want to know what you guys think? For me it wasn't bad but it wasn't that good also, the part got me turn off was when tanner test driving the viper and said "its like this car is out to kill you" thats what clarksons say when he test drive crazy over power cars, will it kill him to not use or use a different word so it wont look like his trying to copy Clakson. Second its so over done when the viper vs a military helicopter didnt top gear uk did that already? Will it kill them to do something different for the first show, and drag racing super cars come on boring it shows the 2 host dont know how to drive sad very sad. I'll give it 2 more episode if it stays same im not even going to DVR it.

UK topgear > US top gear
The chemistry isn't the same as the UK boys which makes it a fun show to watch. Its also as boring as that "Battle of the Supercars" show. I'm glad i have BBCA. |

I thought it was alright, but yeah i dont expect it to compare to the original top gear because as ryuu0u said the chemistry and role types of the hosts doesn't come close. And more than anything that's what makes the show what it is.
clarkson carries most of the load with may as the balance and hammond being the little brother everyone likes to pick on. this show has none of that and i dont know that it ever will with the current cast. The US show is relying too much on the cars alone and lets face it the reason we watch top gear isnt the cars, (although it definitely helps seeing them in the show) its to see what crazy crap they're gonna do next.

yes the UK version is better, but the first couple seasons of the current top gear sucked, so at least give the US version some time. I didnt think it was that bad, and I live like 40 minutes from where they did the viper drive

Haven't seen it. Last time I paid attention they had canned the US version. I read an article about a Car and Driver or Road & Track writer going for an interview and being told that they liked him, but he needed to be a bad driver, so it would match the UK version better.
As for Tanner, he was a bit wooden on Supercars Exposed when he was doing scripted stuff. But when he was drifting the Carrera GT in the hills... For some reason I get the impression that the US version is going to be too much like a bad word-for-word copy of the UK version until it dies, or someone realizes that it is the personalities that make the UK show and let the US guys do more of their own thing.

Over time the hosts will learn to mesh and get their chemistry right. The show is brand new. Comparing something that's had plenty of time to "get it right" isn't really fair. The first few episodes of Top Gear UK kinda sucked too.
Still, I honestly thought it was a pretty solid first episode. While I didn't enjoy the Viper vs Apache bit, I found the Lamborghini segment was nice. Foust and Ferrara were fine imo. But Wood honestly annoyed me most of the time. And for those who didn't see it on tv, no need to torrent. I watched it on History.com this afternoon. Here's the link: http://www.history.com/shows/top-gea...r-cobra-attack

Dear Top Gear USA,
Tanner Foust can not carry the show himself. Please find two new hosts that are either funny, or know anything about a car. Sincerely, Everyone Seriously though did you guys catch the 2nd episode? The dude with the beard is just annoying and knows nothing about anything. He is the one man in the world that made a V12 Vantage boring. A FUCKING V12 VANTAGE! And really, who judges a car by the speedometers top MPH? For the other guy, he made me giggle once or twice but the dude cant do a burn out or doughnut?!? Give any 16 year old boy a RWD and he will be doing burn outs and doughnuts like nothing. Im sure it was played out so the blind dude wins, but how am I supposed to believe someone talking about how a Ferrari Enzo drives, when they cant even burn out in a 370z? /Rant
