Hey gents, new owner of a 2014 BRZ with 7.5k on the dash. I've only had it since Monday, but I absolutely adore this car so far. It's basically useless but I think thats it's defining trait. I can get a golf bag in the trunk and one in the back seat so what else do I really need?

I'm actually going to clean the car now, I have nothing better to do than be behind the wheel or doing something for it.

Charles from SC

Picked up a 2015 limited latter part of Feb (Pearl White). Just got it broken in three days ago. I really like the car. I traded a 1993 RX7 that I bought with 4000 miles and upgraded it so that it had 400 at the rear wheel. Way too fast for me. Someone got a great car for way less than half of what I had in it. I find that the speed on the BRZ is more than adequate but it does not have the quickness when you floor it relative to the twin turbo RX7. Of course I am 66 yrs. old and don't need that anymore. My wife has a 2010 Outback and it has been a great vehicle. I saw a BRZ at a stoplight in Jan 2015 and noticed it was a Subaru. Did not even know they made a sports car and went to dealership that weekend. Took me a month to make up my mind but finally decided to get one. Still getting used to it.

hey everyone

Hi to everyone. I'm from NYC, just purchased a brand new 2015 Subaru BRZ Limited - 6 spd, World Rally Blue, and I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!
The color is beautiful, the car is unbelievably awesome when it comes to handling, road feed back (even with the electric steering), and has good amount of power for the weight.

Would love to know of, get out to meets in the NYC/Long island area

yet another new member..

Brought my EVO X for oil and filter change on Wednesday, a battery replacement and a few recalls. According to the service advisor, the evo will not be ready until after 5 days. Walked around the lot and ended up taking home a 2015 BRZ Limited in ICE Silver. Prior to this purchase, I have never ever considered a BRZ. I have previously owned a 1995 Miata, I like how I can throw that Miata around..so much fun to drive. As a matter of fact, for the past few weeks before my recent purchase, I was seriously considering another NA body Miata. Then I saw the BRZ...

No, I did not get rid of my EVO X. Picking it up tomorrow.

Sup Dudes

I'm new to the BRZ scene here in Dallas. Its been a while since I've been on any forum, but just traded in my '06 Tacoma for my pre-owned 2013 BRZ. I can already feel the negativity from all over the place regarding this car, but this one is my daily and I love it already. Its's hard to validate all the videos and information you read until you actually drive the car. It's just so beautiful to look at. Hope to make it out to some car meetups soon. Seeya...

Curious as to the "negativity" you spoke of?

Guess I should have been more specific. As BRZ owners, we go into ownership of the twins understanding that the platform is underpowered. So it's like, I expect the "your car is slow" comment and any other similar remarks. Once I actually owned the car, I wasn't sure I was ready for the world of BRZ and all the car-bashing that comes with it. I mean everywhere you go online, people not only have bad things to say about it but just completely beat on the car. I love my car for what it is and how it makes me feel when I get into it, but most of the internet is full of trolls who love to beat on the flaws of this car. Like shooting a bazooka at a dead horse. Where is the love man?

Ya, online the number crunchers like to say how "underpowered" it is but very few have actually driven it. In real life I have only had two people ever say it was underpowered but after a 10 minute ride they changed their tune dramatically.
The vast majority of the general public has no clue how fast or slow these cars are (or even what they are in most cases) but we tend to hang out with a very opinionated crowd so there are all the naysayers.

I've found that the bulk of hate mostly comes from a few sources...

Those who think "sports car" = "muscle car." This car was not designed to run 1/4 miles with Hellcats or Z28s.

Those who think the Subaru motor / design means it should automatically be an STI and pull like one.

Those who want to find every fault. Yes, the car's got some noise insulation issues. Like, there isn't any. Yes, the MT is not great for most people who own it. Yes, it drives a bit on the "raw" side.

All of these are by design. I think the car turned out pretty much how the engineers and designers intended it to.

Sure, it's not perfect. Sure, there are some things they could have maybe done a bit better.

But, all around, I think the car hits the mark for what it wanted to be, and equally as important, what it doesn't try to be.

It's not a German luxo-rocket. It's not a grocery getter. It's not a Corvette killer.

It's a bit crude, it's a bit rough around the edges, and it's priced where it should be. I would be unhappy paying $40k for this car, but for under 30, really, look at what you get.

I view this car much like a Harley Davidson motorcycle... Harley KNOWS that 90+% of people are gonna throw the stock exhaust out the window before it even leaves the showroom. They KNOW that the bike is MEANT to be a canvas for customizations. Chrome, performance parts, making it yours to your unique tastes. To that end, this car was obviously designed to be modded. The sheer ease with which so many mods can be applied is evidence of this. It was designed to be a functional canvas... If you like it as is, enjoy it. If you want to start down the path of exploring the mods that tickle YOUR fancy, you have one of the easiest vehicles to mod at your disposal and these cars take to most mods with incredibly good manners and adaptability. It's very versatile.
