Out of all the things I've added to my car so far, I don't know why this is the most exciting.

I can't wait for August to get a custom one.

Failed in trying to install a test pipe on my car. The nuts just won't come loose and it doesn't seem like we have the right tools for the job. So, I might have to resort to going to the shop and having it installed. My local shop is quoting me for $125 for the installation.

I feel like that's a lot for just unscrewing and screwing a pipe.

Any thoughts and any advice? For those that went to a shop to get a front pipe installed, how much did it cost you?

Let me know because I'm thinking about going tomorrow morning!

Did you try spraying with wd40 or some penetrant before hand? Or heat? Do you have a breaker bar? I definitely would not spend anything on a small job like this, especially not $125.

I know you're excited to get the new part installed but with some patients you will get it. Spray them bolts a few times and let it soak in.

Before you go flush $125 down the toilet, go get some PB Blaster or WD-40 oil and spray a generous amount on the nuts/bolts, allowing it to seep into the threads. That will make them easier to unbolt. Pick up a packet of anti-seize while you're at it and dab a tiny bit on the threads before you put em on again. That will make them come off easier in the future.

Exactly why I didn't go to a shop in the first place. $125 is way too much for that to be installed.

I did spray some PB blaster before I started, but the thing is, my tools can't reach or won't be able to turn fully when i'm screwing it.

I'm sure you can buy what whatever tools you're missing for the job for less than $125.
