I have this exact issue and I was gonna create a thread on it. Specs:

Tein MonoSport coilovers, 8k front 9k rear
Ride height is 1.75 finger gap all around between fender and wheels
18x9.5 255/35/18 Dunlop Direzza ZII

Alignment:

0 toe in front
-1/8th toe in rear
-3 camber up front
-2 camber in rear

The TC will kick on when turning even slightly left. However, it reacts normally when turning right. It's very strange. I drive my car without TC now and have had an opportunity to test it out on the track; I don't feel a difference between turning left or right.

Is the wheel centered when driving straight? If the wheel isn't centered (and more importantly, steering angle sensor) driving straight it will definitely trigger VSC easier since the steering angle and yaw rates won't match up.

I'd check for a slightly loose control arm or ball joint.

Not that this is bad advice in the slightest, but if a car was recently aligned and the alignment shop didn't catch a loose/worn part they have no business working on cars.

Perhaps, but the reality is that most shops/techs that (can) do alignments are not suspension specialists.

I had my car aligned by my go-to shop and they didn't catch a loose ball joint, after I specifically told them something was off with the handling of the car while turning (VSC light would flash and car would change direction). A second shop that *only* does alignments quickly spotted the issue.

Another time the body shop that was fixing my car after an accident aligned the car and didn't see one of the struts was bent..

And another time when a famous SoCal tuning shop aligned my car, they set my front struts at different angles and then compensated with camber bolts to get close to the specs I asked.

There's very few shops that know what they're doing when it comes to alignments and suspension..

I have a cable on the way via eBay.

My car drives awesome with the stability control off so I figure it is either a reset issue or a sensor issue. I'll let you boys know what happens.

Thanks for the response. The steering wheel isn't straight right now (current alignment is different from what I posted). But it did have some issues I believe with the old alignment I posted. I only had that alignment for 1 week though before a track event fucked my alignment up (didn't hit anything, just drifted).

I actually just replaced my front ball joints with Whiteline RCA kit (includes ball joints and tension rods) before I got my alignment.

I guess something must be loose though. I don't see why else my alignment got messed up so easily from one day of hardcore drifting.

My VSC has been kicking in like crazy after installing Tein Street Flex only during hard canyon runs. It was pretty bad in the beginning but seems like it has settled down a little bit. Not too sure but when I first got the coilovers, I had set it on the softest damping set up both front and back. With that setting, my VSC was kicking in almost whenever I took the turns fast. Switched my damping set up to 6 clicks from the full stiff, the VSC kicks in less.

I have -2 camber on all four corners.

It shouldn't be an issue at the track though since we all just do the pedal dance.

This is my ride height:

Still waiting on my cable.

Took the car out today and the VSC is defenetly not behaving correctly. Sometimes I'll be going around a sweeper really slow and it kicks in for no reason. Odd.

Update: lifted the car and checked every bolt and looked over the sensors. Everything looked fine. Hoping the re-set takes care of me. If not I'll put it on the alignment rack and see if anything changed there.

The same question, really confused me, today I just drive on canyon road with new suspension, almost every turn the traction will come, but I'm not driving too fast...

Anyone having issues like this really needs to find a way to log the steering input angle and yaw sensor output. Not sure if techstream can do it, but I would think it can.

I got under the car and checked every single bolt and found nothing amiss. Still having this issue. My tech stream cable is inbound from overseas. As soon as it arrives I will do a re set and report back with any change. If that doesn't work I may just go back to stock suspension, or a spring strut combo.
