Screw the civic. I'd rather spend that money towards the new ford focus rs. Now that's gonna be one hell of a car! Plus it looks waaaaay nicer

NO WHERE does it say, the US is getting the type R.

Get over it.

Why don't you get over it? You're just mad cuz you thought you would be tough shit on the internet and you got shut down.

They have no reason to state "the civic type R will be available in the states on X date" in an editorial. Why would it be on a list of cars to wait for if it would never be here? And as far as it "sucking if we didn't get it" don't you think it would suck if we never got something we were supposed to? That doesn't mean or imply that it's not happening. Obviously Hondas plans can change, especially if the type R doesn't do well in Japan or if the non turbo model fails here, assuming it will be released pre 2018. But as it stands, this article states clearly enough that it's going to happen

@Ashikabi

You read this thread again.

Car and Driver never published anything saying we were supposed to get a Civic Type R. Car and Driver pretty much said "We hope we get the type R"

But YOU said "Word is 2018 we get the stock turbo civic type R. According to... Car and Driver I think..."

Which they never said, and actually in a previous blog post by Car and Driver, they said we were NOT getting the current Type R.

But dude autoblog.com says there is a rumour that it might come here:
"Thankfully, at least one rumor indicates its turbocharged engine might make it into the North American Civic at some point."
We all know that autoblog has the most reliable info there is so it must be true.
Like all the 86 rumours I will not believe one single word until there is an official press release from Honda.

Nope. Not mad in the least.
I just have a horrible distrust of any car blog's info. They make up so much shit based on little to no fact that they have ruined the internet as a source of car information for me. Even the ones that used to be pretty reliable (Car and Driver for one) seem to have fallen in the trap of using the other blogs as source material for speculation.
Have a buddy who want's a Civic R so bad he wakes up sweating and screaming in the night and we have not found one single piece of reliable info that confirms that it will actually come here. All the sites just keep referencing each other in a big circle while Honda themselves just keep saying "well we might, possibly, just maybe, if they sell here and if we decide there is the market and if, if, if...
You sort of nailed it before when you said "we will see in 18".

Yes, and Ford themselves came out with an actual press release saying so. Seems to be mostly the Japanese manufacturers that will not make official announcements to far in advance. They throw the concept cars into shows and then let the bogs run wild with speculation and don't say a word to correct the misinformation. Almost seems like a marketing ploy sometimes.

Thus, a moment of silence for our (possibly) dearly departed Nissan IDX

It showed up a couple years ago and had everyone buzzing, now it's barely talked about, if at all.

Yeah I really liked the idea of the IDX.

Throw that Inline Turbo 4 of the Juke (supposedly a peppy engine) and a real transmission (no CVT please...or at least make it an option) and I think that could be a fun little sport coupe.

Then again...Nissan instead made a Juke based off of a GTR platform...
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx2MnKZNmwM"]Nissan Juke-R vs GT-R track test - Auto Express - YouTube[/ame]

That Convertible Murano (which has been canned...and never sold well)

So I figure...whats the worse the IDX can do or be? It certainly can't be worse than that Convertible Murano or a Juke ona GTR platform?
