Yeah it's remarkable how refined the new Mustang is, especially with the premium pack. My dad hated the build quality on his old foxbody, but if he can get past that stigma, I think he'd enjoy the new one quite a bit. They're getting some really nice power numbers from the Ecoboosts too with basic mods. I might see if I can slip a tune on his car without him knowing and let him enjoy.

I thought I was going to be a fan of the new Mustang but the weight numbers were underwhelming. I also ended up not being a fan of the looks. I am not going to be in the market for a new car for either a very long time, or maybe never, so I wasn't too bothered. I am happier with my $6k Miata than my BRZ with $20k of mods on top

Yeah same here on the looks. It's one of those designs that looks good in pictures, but kind of frumpy in person. Not to mention Ford improved areas I don't care that much about personally (refinement and interior), but didn't do much for the weight. Personally I want to see how the new 2016 Camaro turns out. If all Chevy does is take the current 1LE SS, drop 200 lbs. and improve the gauges and visibility, that may be enough to sell me on it.

This. Subaru does different well, but this will be my last flimsy crap quality Japanese model I'll likely ever buy.

Just go drive one! SoL is a pretty good dealer. I'm on my third car from them. I recommend Ken, who is one of their senior sales guys. He's a straight up guy.

I drove both the WRX and STI last summer when I was thinking about dumping the BRZ. I liked the WRX and it's a huge improvement over the previous generations, but couldn't get over the relative lack of steering feel. The STI was just a bit much for a DD for me. I also think losing the hatch was a mistake.

As for the looks, good on you if you like it and don't worry what anyone else thinks. I think Subaru missed an opportunity to make it more distinctive, though they don't have a great track record since the 1998-2000 models (22B FTW!). But then I had '09 and '11 WRX 5doors and I thought they looked OK.

I personally love the look of the new WRX's especially the STI's in WRB. Like everyone else I wish they looked like the concept, but then again few cars do.

I actually hated the concept lol

I just personally felt like the proportions looks off, like it was supposed to be a coupe, but it had 4 doors stretched out. I did love the tail lights on the concept though.

While I don't think the new '15 is pretty, I've never thought the sti or wrx was a pretty car. It's aggressive and loud in terms of styling, but I wouldn't call them pretty.

I do like the way the '15s are though. I think the base and premium just looks cheap though because of the headlight housings. The black housings on the limited and the sti really makes the car look so much better in my opinion.

Can't be denied though that the way they drive is quite an improvement over the previous generation car.
