We always said we would get a parrot when the cockatiel died. Going on 28 years now and the little bugger is strong as ever. I just wish he had learned to say more than just six phrases.

Christ...

Yesterday afternoon the head of the engineering department was looking for students to sign up for an interview opportunity on the next morning. He told us this was an automotive internship, where we'd get paid to learn and then go off to the big Baja race the next year. I was of course interested because this sounds like a dream come true. The only part that scared me was the lack of info, all i had was a guys name and a place to go.

I arrived this morning nicely dressed, awaiting for some automotive guy to come tell us what he's looking for in us engineers. It's community work for soap box derby competition. What the fuck? Every Saturday they want us to come by and help the kids build the cars. Which we did today, because we were so skull fucked we didn't even know what to say.

I really enjoyed helping the kids and I'll most likely come next weekend...but the anger still consumes my thoughts.
