No guarantee, took mine 6 months and 10k+ miles before it triggered on my tune (I wanted it to trigger at first just in case something else was wrong).

I think fr86sf stated earlier that the cat they use on this header is not high flow cat. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...postcount=2087

However this blog post confuses us. http://ft86speedfactory.com/blog/cat...nd-subaru-brz/

Just chiming in.

Running the FT86SF UEL Catted header, TRD Intake & TRD Catback exhaust on the OFT Stage 1. Periodically picking up P0420 CEL while cruising on highway, generally after a cold start and little warm up. Clear and move on. Eventually I plan to tweak the map to turn off P0420 permanently.

Seems like the price of modding a bit outside of the stock tolerances, ohh well.

With this header, a motiv OP, Invidia catted FP, and invidia N1 catback with stock intake, and dyno tuned by the best, here is what I managed:

So, Maybe this has been addressed, maybe it hasnt. But sifting through 113 pages of posts would take a long time.

I'm noticing that a lot of you guys are having improper flow codes, despite running this header with a Cat.

Has anyone tried running a O2 spacer? Thus pulling the o2 sensor slightly out of the stream, allowing it to see a little less air, and removing the code?

I currently have a catless downpipe on my vw GTI, and I'm running a o2 spacer, and no tune. and I've never had a cat code. So i'm curious if the same can ring true for this car.

Appreciate the effort! But all you had to do was search the word "spacer" in this thread........ but to answer your questions: yes, it has been addressed and tuning out the code is alot easier

The issue with Tuning out the code, is that it shows "forced readiness" on the ECU, which... at least in NY. Will cause you to Fail inspection.

Guess we're just living in the new car nirvana where we don't have to worry about smog for another 4-6 years haha. Cross that bridge when we get to it

I don't think this is the case for those of use living in an OBDII-verified compliance state. As far as I know, throwing most codes will cause you to fail an inspection. I do not believe there is a way to suppress a CEL without, as Chazzzy pointed out, showing a forced readiness on the ECU.

If someone knows of a way, I would be very interested in hearing about it.

Why, hello there. Look at the many shiny things sent to me by the great god of heavenly exhaust notes:

Still waiting on the Invidia resonated front pipe. Gonna be interesting going from completely stock to a full header back exhaust overnight!

Already plan to. Got an external mic for my GoPro and a (cheap) decibel meter on the way from Amazon, so hopefully later this week i'll be able to throw together some videos of how it sounds.

As for the Laffy Taffy, those have long since disappeared... Sorry
