Looked at those numbers after I posted that, looks like we will see the typical summer upswing and fueled by the new model year changes and clearing out last years models at discounted prices.

Hell there were more FR-S sold in April than Mazda sold Miata's in any month in the last 5 years. And by a margin of several hundred.

Lovely, when I add a back up camera in a couple weeks ago. You can never be ahead of the dealer .

Yes and although we all assume there will be a special edition for 16 we don't know for sure. Could wait forever for the next "best" that never shows up.

494 BRZ and 1026 FR-S last month. Some of the employee's in the civic department would laugh at for those numbers on a new release, let alone one that is now entering its fourth year of production. Toyota uses a 4 year cycle on Sports cars so I agree with your 2016 prediction.

The civic is an appliance. You might as well buy a Corolla or Camry.

The 2016 FRS interior looks exactly the same as my 2015 BRZ. Same silver trim and knee pads etc. I imagine its a cost saving thing to simply bring both of the twins in line (with specification) to reduce costs. Be interesting to see if they bite the bullet and finally make the extra under panels (missing from the FRS) standard. If it keeps going this way then perhaps from MY2017 they might standardise keyless entry and push start.

This way they can creep the prices (each year) up to the point where the FRS will match the JDM spec eventually. Just BYO badges to complete the transformation. No extra money required on RND and they can amalgamate costs across the entire production line rather than smaller units of alternating trim levels.

Genius.

Oh yeah, that's right. They want the latest just to say they have the latest.
Makes no sense to me. Basically all the parameters are the same besides some minor interior changes, larger exhaust tips and the spring rate. Most people will throw on an exhaust, springs/coilovers, and add a shark fin antenna anyways.
Smart thing to do is do research and look for what deal you can find and the condition.
From what I've seen, if you haven't had any tranny issues, engine issues after 30k miles, you're fine.
Save yourself the $3-5k and get yourself mods.

I would not say some sort of performance change is out of the question just yet guys. The chances may still be slim but until that information becomes official don't count it out. Toyota usually doesn't give us/anyone all the details at once which is why the press release we got only lists what they know. They like to keep things secret until the last minute lots of times just like the Ft-1 concept...if you noticed they never pop the hood on that car giving away any idea what might be powering it.

I'm kind of excited to see how the new "Ablaze" and "Oceanic" color look in person. Or if it is just a shade off of Firestorm and Ultramarine.

And no major changes, just an added backup camera and some trim pieces colors.
I guess the most significant changes they made is still the 2013-2014 changes.

Shark fin antennas + bigger exhaust tips

The colors are Pure Red a Azeraitoburu Blue on the 2016 GT86 just a different name. I know that the blue is code (K3X) which is Subaru's Lapis Blue ironically put on the Subaru Forester built in the same plant as the Twins. So If you see a late model Forester in a Cobalt looking blue, that's the color.

From the JDM site but they are digital color renderings, a real life pic of the Legacy with Lapis Blue (K3X) is below and a Forester in Pure Red (M7Y)

Yeah but sometimes used are not that cheap...like in Canada a used Frs is 2-3grand less but the interest rate is higher so your basically coming to the same monthly payments
