The prototype had red molle stitching, but i liked the black more, and felt that it was a bit more subtle, so they went with black for the production models.

I have a set and love them, but using the loops made mine uncomfortable because it kept it from moving when I moved and felt overly restrictive at the top. It also prevented the seat belt from retracting, so that the buckle would bang against the side of the car when I got out.

I unhooked it, and the problems were solved. It's a lot better to leave it loose so it can be adjusted for comfort more easily while driving.
