K&N says you can go 100,000 miles before cleaning the filter. I would clean it way before that in this application. Just buy the K&N cleaning kit and follow the instructions on the box. It's pretty easy as long as you give yourself enough time to follow the process properly.

Never, I use the AEM dry flow air filter wrap ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/AEM-1-4000-Flow-Filter-Wrap/dp/B00353G1SY"]Amazon.com: AEM 1-4000 Dry Flow Air Filter Wrap: Automotive[/ame]) during wet months. I take it off and clean it with microfiber cloth and window cleaner when I swipe finger against it and see dirt. I take off the filter wrap during mostly dry months and replace the filter at least once per year regardless of how it looks. It can probably be cleaned to some extent but I replace it. Replacement interval depends on the amount of dust and moisture the filter is exposed to.

We use two filters, and swap in the "fresh" one whenever it looks dirty.

I've been thinking about taking this same approach... have a link to where I can pick up an extra?

If by "filters" you mean underwear, we are on the same page.

Follow the instruction manual. The break-in procedure is there.

Both. It's a 100 mile break in, how to do it is in the manual

Keep the RPM down for the first 100 miles, and re-check fluid levels regularly. If everything looks good after the first 100, have fun

Please call and make an appointment to make sure someone is there. CSG is primarily a R&D and shipping facility.
