Yep! Most of the dynos show very modest increases and drop ins and whole systems are about the same. They actually did a pretty good job engineering the stock intake so it is pretty hard to get much more out of an aftermarket one.

I get jittery about my K&N drop in after looking at hard data. Does this leaned out AFR cause any damage/problems over the long haul?

I got the same from just a TRD drop in with the stock inlet tube. That stock tube is as ugly as sin though!

No doubt - the main reason I got the Perrin tube was to delete the stock tube and the sound generator. Cleaned up the engine bay quite a bit on that alone.

+1. I have the OFH/OFT so I had to keep the airbox. But I did get the SuperTek intake tube and painted it to match the body color.
In the past I had the Injen intake system and hated it, it didn't look good and I honestly think the filter just doesn't do enough, and I'm inherently skeptical of all cone filters over stock. I just haven't seen real proof they filter out everything the stock filter does. In my opnion with a new intake tube and getting rid of the side tank when you look to the left of the intake box, the stock intake box looks really good, and clean and simple. I plan on having a drop in filter before my next change for a bit more gain. -RyanG |
