I still stall it out backing into the garage, mostly because I can't hear the engine! I'll be fixing that soon but... garage is off an alley, and I have to back in just right so that I couldn't actually pull straight out or I'd hit the wall... I can get about a 30 degree angle, no more, so it's backing and turning and not hitting the side of the garage or my wife's car... Evidently it's quite an impressive feat, if my neighbor is to be believed.

Don't think I've stalled it otherwise, but the clutch in my previous car was notably worse pedal feel vs. this, and the go pedal a bit stiffer, so that may be why.

Back when I was first learning to drive stick, I had the usual trouble slowing down and downshifting and getting ready to turn and all that at once... some punks behind me had enough and eventually passed, middle fingers raised high, and yelling "learn to drive mother fucker!" All I could do was laugh out "I'm trying!"

I'd probably be going the long way to avoid the worst of the hills in Seattle for a while - which probably gets more practice in anyway so may not be a bad thing at all. Those hills are a beast.

Haven't stalled it once which is a bit of a miracle since even after 40 years of MT I usually stall every new car at least a couple of time at first.

Somehow have managed not to. Made the car shutter a couple times. Which is odd, I used to stall my old Sentra like once every other month - usually when I was tired.

I think the enjoyment I get out of the 86 when driving her keeps me more alert to driving her properly.

Stalled mine about 5-6 times since I got it almost exactly a year ago. Most cases were when reversing and not noticing a hump or something. One or two were simply me running out of talent momentarily.
