Question Feedback needed on Buddy Club BBK

Hey,

Interested in getting a front Buddy Club BBK set. The price is just right at $1500~. However, couldn't find any reviews on those brakes.

My use is for spirited street driving and occasional track days

Thanks

For your use, you're probably better to stay with stock brakes. Just get better pads and fluid.

This. I would never put Buddy Club brakes on my car.

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you use them? Do they use a special brake pad that only they sell?

I personally stayed with stock calipers and upgraded the lines, fluid and pads and it's MUCH better and plenty of brakes IMO, but I'm still curious

The one time I tried researching them when @Ironsquid was considering them, I couldn't even figure out what pads they used. My guess is they use a common Porsche pad shape similar to the Stoptechs, but I don't know.

Buddy club is a well respected brand, but truth be told these are probably rebranded calipers made by another company. That I know of I have never seen them being big on brakes.

I looked at some websites after posting that and also couldn't get the pad information.

TRD pads, have the rotors drilled, paint the calipers and you're good to go

As someone who has actually used the TRD pads (and owns an 86) I would say they are the worst bang for buck pad out there. I currently use Ferodo DS2500s and they are a great step up. Of course that won't look as pretty as a BBK.

Pretty sure his suggestions were purely sarcastic... drilling the rotors and TRD pads are pretty much the worst things you could do.

I thought that too - then noticed that he doesn't yet own a twin, and has recommended TRD in a couple of threads. So decided to at least put some experience based advice out there.

There are people who recommend cut springs and all manner of stupidity in all seriousness and others who rush off and take their advice.

Unfortunately there's no Sarcasmdar app for this site.
