It isnt similar in volume at all..
When I ran full catless it was ungodly loud. Threw on a catted front pipe and its fine. But thats just from experience. Maybe its different with other setups? O_o

Would the berk catless front pipe alone be able to add major drone and noise? I added it and holy smokes the drone and awful sound. I'm hoping its a lose bolt and exhaust leak

Typically catless does do that. What is the rest of your exhaust setup? Any future exhaust plans/changes

Just out of curiosity, what is your current exhaust setup?

If you just want a straight pipe, no cats, no resonators, it's cheaper to just go to a quality muffler shop that's local to you and have them fab the part.

Also the cat helps with rasp as you upgrade the rest of the exhaust as it acts as a slight resonator.
I run completely catless and I have asked coworkers if they can smell my car while following me and they say "no". So must not be that bad...

Buy one and find out. I don't think anyone has measured that. It's likely not a whole lot louder if it still has a cat.

This is what I figured all along but it seems like most who posted above said to get a cat because it's the same loudness as a uncatted front pipe.

So ultimately, now I'm confused as to what is what.

So far I've heard catted and catless sound the same in terms of loudness.

And I've also heard that aftermarket catted sounds equally as loud as stock

By this logic, an uncatted front pipe is equally loud as a stock pipe which it's obviously not.

So what's really right then?

An uncatted pipe will be louder than a catted and an aftermarket catted pipe will be louder than the factory one. Reason being that there is less restriction. This is not considering resonated pipes .Overall however the cat back has the biggest impact on sound though
