Correct me if I'm wrong but does the GTS not come with a rear spoiler?

And they wonder why people buy knock offs on Fleabay and Supercrap Auto.

Why would they need a TRD branch to sell the TRD edition, wouldnt it be just another car in the line up?

TRD is not dead. Why would you say that mate? It is VERY clear they are still alive and running well. There are a number of parts available from TRD for this vehicle. Maybe not in Australia, but TRD in Japan have a fully functioning website and parts catalogue.
There are still parts available through TRD for the old AE86!! As well as a number of other current and past vehicles. They actually have a whole range of stuff for the IS-F
So please, don’t make statements like that without factual basis. Especially when you are a dealer representing your company. Poor form.

Many thanks for the reference! Unfortunately, not a good unit according to this recent review: http://www.themotorreport.com.au/535...aris-zr-review

Without wanting to hijack the thread, any suggestions on replacement head units, should we feel the need, noting that we won't be getting steering wheel controls?
(I'm disappointed in the 80's-styled digital clock and lack of steering wheel controls. Could be a factor in depreciation rates.)

Yes... This is very true... but this isn't just TRD it is all car parts.

His post says “TRD is dead”
Not “TRD Australia are no longer selling cars”
Two very different things. And besides, A while ago didn’t TMCA confirm they will be importing TRD parts for the 86 available through the dealer network?

I don't about TRD cars, but i do know they still supply parts for cars that are exclusive to TRD, like Aurion, HiLux,Corolla and soon for the 86. My Dad has a 2003 HiLux 3.4L V6 his got TRD bull bar, mud flaps (are they called mud flaps? the things that under and behind the rear tyres to minimise dirt from flying out) and rain shields on the driver and passenger window.

yeah but for normal sales people (who typically know very little), TRD to them is dead.

They should do some research then, before spouting off with false statements
None of us even work for toyota and know this shit...
My boss wouldn't like me making up thigns that aren't true and telling potential customers just because i coudln't be bothered finding out facts.

Er, 'trd id dead because sales on hilux and aurion parts flopped'

Really? Hilux and aurion?? Two of the least sporty cars I can think of and they didnt predict dismal sales of trd parts.

but currently TRD is really dead (in its last form) in Australia.

they might introduce TRD as parts only in the future here or they might just market those TRD parts as Toyota Geninue Parts/Accessories.

Not to turn this in to another price war thread, but this is exactly what I was refering to about hoping that Toyota australia doesn't fuck this car up by overpricing it, and subsequently discontinuing it due to "low demand"
