We identified many part number changes in the engine here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84282

However, we couldn't identify if there was an actual change or not. I haven't driven an earlier BRZ either, so I cannot tell if the torque dip issue is now better.

I was in a Subaru dealer today for service. Asked salesperson if they know anything about the 16 brz changes. Wasn't sure so asked the sales manager at Chicago dealer. He came back with Subaru is discontinuing the car for 2016. 2015 is the last year. My jaw dropped. I went straight to his office to hear it first hand. He said subaru is not coming out with a 16 siting low sales, rwd doesn't fit subaru awd culture and low sales again. He didn't know if frs will continue. But I think no since it built in brz plant. I know it's not official announced. I don't know the sales manager. But should be a credible source. Unless he in fact was just the porter dressed in a suit and is completely clueless. Anyone? Can add to this?

Well this statement will cause a shitstorm of speculation!
Be the first time in recorded history that a dealership breaks news of this magnitude.

Let's not forget step two of the lexicon! Every response that is contradictory to the idea already formed will now be argued even though a question was asked.

And it is a sure sign that that dealer will lie to you in the future if something goes wrong. Unless of course it is true and that Manager is now chained in a dungeon in Japan for releasing the news.

There were some thoughts to discontinue the model, but this is now history. People that are very close to the designers, provide now information even about the model revision. Fortunately for us, the revisions will not be massive (small changes in the front & rear of the car, redesigned internals and a few other minor modifications). Please check the links we provided already.

It wouldn't surprise me...

Here in New England sales have slowed to the point that SNE (subaru of new england) didn't open up ordering for the 2015 MY until late OCTOBER 2014. Since then, I've only seen a dozen or so brz's trickle in on the SNE website:

http://www.subaruofnewengland.com/ne...BRZ&year=2015&

These have been mostly customer orders, as they will have a status off "in transit" w/ a stock "number" of SOLD. Not many appear to be going into dealer stock.

I'd guess that there is at most 2 dozen (24) total 2015 BRZ's in all of New England. This will increase now with seasonal spring sales of RWD cars on the rise...

If Subaru doesn't discontinue, it looks like they are cutting supply, or at least not pushing unwanted allocations of BRZ's on the dealers.

Maybe Scion will come out w/ a Limited (Monogram) model to replace the brz
