Haha, same setup here and the cold start is definitely loud. Let me know if you get a kinda wooshy flappy noise with your setup. I've been chasing the noise since I put the header in. While I've definitely had bad gaskets it a leak free now and still has the noise. I'm debating a person cbe or invidia q300

Can't tell just yet. I *think* I have a leak at the OP/FP connection, and then another at the donut gasket. Or maybe it's at the header/OP connection - we did have problems getting it bolted up because the second O2 sensor was in the way.

The 2nd O2 sensor is definitely in the way, I have to have the wrench in a specific place to squeeze between the inner fender and the header.

The FP donut gasket is a bit of a pain, you have to get the bolts through the flange on the JDL FP to get the donut fully seated, but don't crank them down so the spring is bottomed out. Takes a bit of fiddling around, but mine has sealed perfectly now.

I did switch to remflex gaskets for the two bolt flanges, seals way more easily with less messing around. I can post up the past number of you want, it's $15 for a pair of gaskets IIRC.

It was quite an ordeal to even get the FP-MP close enough to bolt them. We ended up having to use a C-clamp to push the two flanges together enough so we could get the bolts on. Could that mean I'm a little bit wonky on one of my other connections, or is it normal to require so much force?

You mean for the OP/FP connection? Yeah, that'd be great. I'm gonna pressure test the system this weekend to see if I can find the leaks.

Edit: also, wtf do I do about the cold start? It's seriously window-shakingly loud. Do I have to go into the OFT tune and tinker with the ignition timing? 'Cause that's a little outside my bailiwick.

I can get the bolts started by hand, but it's definitely not easy the first time. Now I can take it apart and put it back together almost like stock now that the donut gasket is fully seated.

I used these (you can buy elsewhere for a bit cheaper): http://catalog.remflex.com/COLLECTOR...ket_p/8026.htm

Be very careful and don't bend the gaskets, they pretty much disintegrate if you do. They included a sample to play with so you can get a feel for it. I mention that because I did have to carefully thread the bolts through the gasket, it's really easy to damage the gasket just trying to shove the bolt through in free air (you can put the gasket between the pipes and shove the bolt through then, I guess). You can ream out the bolt hole a bit with a knife.

Yup, tune it out using RomRaider. I think somebody posted an appropriate stage 2 ROM without the cold start noise. I haven't personally done that, but a friend asked me to help kill the noise on their car, so I might be able to post up a OTS Stage 2 tune with the cold start removed.
