I think Merc lost that race, rather than Ferrari winning it. I couldn't understand why they pitted under the safety car, it was only 5 into the race! I called it that they made a mistake right then.
As for McLaren Honda, much better showing than last race, pace-wise at least. Sure they didn't finish the race, but they were right there mixing it for points, and this is still with an engine in its infant stage. They've made a 1.6s gain since Australia. At the very least I expect them to be regularly in the points once the European season starts. |

That was a much more satisfying race than the last one. But any race where I can see Hamilton pout and put on his fake smile is a good one in my book. I really hope that Ferrari continues to be a bug up Merc's ass, it'll make for a very interesting season!

I contend this. The Ferrari got their equipment to work better than Merc got their to work (the tires). Ferrari had a different front wing design that was specifically designed to aid in tire management in hot weather and it worked. IMHO, that's winning by doing it better.
It's not like Ferrari won because the other team threw a pass at the front of the endzone on 2nd and 1 when they had the leagues best running back. Just sayin'

Ferrari just did it better. They had a rough season last year, and they made the changes necessary to be back in contention, and this last race proves it. You can't blame Mercedes' pit strategy considering Kimi had to limp an entire lap on 3 tires, pit, and still come up in 4th place. Ferrari just had it this race, and the boys at Mercedes didn't know how to handle it. You heard Hamilton throw a hissy fit over the radio. Now they have to work for the wins. |

Ok, let's not throw a champion parade just yet. Even Ferrari themselves don't expect to win in the next races. I agree that Ferrari had their tires working better, obviously the Mercedes doesn't like searing hot temperatures. All I said was that I think Mercedes made a strategical error by pitting under the safety car. They had track position before then, and if they had stayed out they would still be at the front, thus making it much harder for Ferrari. Maybe Ferrari would have won the race anyway, they certainly had their tires working better, but that's going into the hypothetical.

Shit in F1 finishing in the points is worth a parade half the time.

Watching Qualifying for Chinese GP now from last night. Hamilton and Rosberg both took it easy on the prime tire and advanced to Q2 and then Q3 where Hamilton led the field on the soft tires. He's been complaining that his seat is getting hot and they changed the seat out before qualifying and he was still saying it was getting hot during qualifying. Rosberg got close on final lap.
Hamilton 1:35.782 Rosberg 1:35.824 Vettel 1:36.687 Massa 1:36.954 Bottas 1:37.143 Raikkonen 1:37.232 Ricciardo 1:37.540 Grosjean 1:37.905 Nassa 1:38.067 Ericsson 1:38.158 |

Welllllll................Nico the Crybaby has re-emerged. Claims Hamilton was driving too SLOW today. Hey Nico, If he was driving too slow, why didn't you catch and pass him? Huh? What, no answer for that? Mercedes should dump his butt.......

Best fight of the race was between Button and Pastor. Kimi could have challenged Vettel if it weren't for the safety car. That would have been exciting but we'll have to wait till next race. |
