Yeah, just noticed I was off on the weight as I was comparing it to the AD08 and other tires. Makes the combo even better.

My friends are telling me not to do another all black car like my STI and are pushing for the gunmetal TSW.

The AD08s are a nice tire. They seem to rate nearly the same as the Z1*. However the Z1* is noticeably cheaper than the AD08. It would come down to appearance, and I'm not sure the Yoko's design is worth $80 to me..
The AD08s have better steering response and feel IMO. I have both on different wheels for the ITR right now but I'm planning on moving the star specs to the car I'm selling. I'm also getting more life (so far anyways) out of the AD08s.

Star specs are the sh#t for Chumpcar though

Interesting. I was also looking at the Kumho Ecsta XS, but the reviews aren't as good.

Bah! Were's my opinionated streak when I need it to make a decision?

Well there is the massive price difference to consider too. I got $100 off the AD08s which made them the same as star specs for my car.

Now I like them more so I'm screwed. lol

These looks great minus the slammed look. I'm really liking these as an alternative to the Volk CE

I could shave that gain and more by going with RS3 tires, but I want the crisper turn-in that the tires with heavier sidewalls provide (Z1* spec most likely).

So I'm thinking 17x8+45 Enkei PF01 or TSW Nurburgring, both are around 17.5lbs.

I'd love to go with the super light Enkei RPF1 or OZ Racing Alleggerita, but I just don't like how either look.
I might go with the enkei pf01's that was my original intention, but thought the 9's would look better. Im not to worried about weight of the wheels seeing how i only way around 110lb myself

Same thing for me, I really like the looks of the PFO1's the best...but being nearly 2 lbs heavier each compared to the RPF1's is not acceptable.

Unsprung weight is key and I want to maximize the cars potential without spending a lot - so I think I would be happy with 17x8 RPF1's and a 21lb or lighter tire Max Performance Summer Tire. Since really going for daily driver, don't want R-compound level grip and am actually looking at the 215/45-17 Kumho Ecsta Sport LE's for $99 each with $50 rebate. Just got a 205/55-16 set mounted on 16x7.5 Kosei K-1's for my Tacoma and am really happy with them so far after a few hundred miles. Doesn't have the dry grip of Hankook R-S3's but is about on par with the older R-S2's (like the Kumho MX's) and have better wet traction than both the Hankooks. I'm actually amazed with the wet traction of these tires... in a truck with 1/4 fuel tank level it just grips when turning and cuts right through standing water all while feeling planted. Not quite 'Subaru AWD planted' like R-S3's in the wet on my brothers Impreza RS though...but the most planted of any tire I've had on my Tacoma in the wet (BFG KDW, Falken Azenis RT-215, Kumho Ecsta MX, Hankook R-S2 & R-S3).

Here it is, a little after 1am and once again Im looking for wheels. I can never seem to make my mind up.

Im loving Enkeis at the moment. I really want a set of platinum silver RSM9s, but they dont make any lower offsets then +48 in 18x8. Or SBC RS05s.

Its a tough choice man seeing how thats what most people notice first when checking out a nice car. Take your time, and consider all your options because i know ive changed my mind damn near 6 times by now

Unfortunately, Ill change the wheels out again in a year or so. Im a wheel whore. Ive gone through 5 sets on my CL and only had it for a little over 4 years

Im still leaning towards RPF1s since theyre light, strong, and in the right fitment, but everyone runs them. Ugh........
