29 Available BRZ's

I checked this morning and there are 29 BRZ's(74 FRS's) listed for sale in the US on auto trader.

Seems like a lot for cars that are supposed to be sold out in most states.

A lot of dealerships auto-post cars for sale when they get VINs. So the cars may not actually be on the dealer's lots.

As for sold out, I doubt that. Don't let a dealership try to mark up over MSRP with that excuse.

This, plus it's possible that a certain number of these vehicles already have deposits on them.

For thoose of us a late delviery date, well a late estimated delivery date who knows when it will show up, I think we can probably neogitate off msrp in the next few months. Why wait to pay msrp at your delear if you can get one right now somewhere else?

There is also likely some trickle coming from backed out orders. Bc some people dont hold out for a long time very well in waiting for cars. Life situations change and ppl may cancel or back out while signing the car for many reasons. Even if they have a deposit on every allotment there will be a few popping up last minute.

So how come they post it? Is it a marketing strategy to post that they have inventory, but not actually have anything in stock? Sounds so shadyyyy.

Yes, it's called a bait and switch and dealers have been doing it forever

Autotrader, Cars.com, as well as individual dealerships are listing cars that have deposits on them and are likely sold...so its a needle in a haystack kinda thing...if you really want one then you need to chase down a million leads and hope that the one you want is actually available...
I think this will clear up when the things actually show up at the dealers...then comes the moment of truth for those of us with deposits...to buy or not to buy...I know what my answer will be so I'm kinda just sitting back and waiting for the dealer where I ordered TO GET THE DAMN THING IN!
