There isn't an oil pressure sensor, so you'll never get oil pressure unless you've added an aftermarket sensor. The stock one just gives a yay/nay on pressure, and you'd have to lose A LOT of pressure for it to say nay, more than you'd want to wait to hear from it.

Aim Solo DL is what we will be using in our Project BRZ for Track/Street. In our Spec86 we will be running the Aim MXL2 Dash.

We are also now an Authorized AIM Dealer so anyone on here who is interested in an AIM product we will be doing a group buy/initial buy sale this month. E-mail us for details sales@azpinstalls.com

Temps available:
oil
water
air

I have mine set up to read 4 things when I'm on the track:
oil temp
water temp
best lap time
delta vs best lap time

The last one is very handy, it adjusts as I am driving on the track so it can give me an approximation of how fast/slow I am on the track, good way to keep track of where you are faster (or slower) and see how your driving progresses.

Most factory oil pressure switches are just a warning light, it comes on basically when you're out of oil. You're better off investing in an actual oil pressure sensor via oil filter sandwich adapter.

Every other setting is completely useless at the track unless you are tuning.... which you should be doing via a laptop or other full-function device.

I use Harry's lap timer and dash command. No way to monitor oil pressure but I installed an oil pressure gauge when I installed my oil cooler so I can moniter it.

If you're just looking to log temps then Harry's Lap Timer or similar would be ok. If you're looking to log data to analyze your driving, so that you can use it to improve, then I'd recommend the AIM Solo DL. There's a bunch of people on this forum who use them, so you'd have a community to learn from and compare data with.

You can set up a custom screen on the AIM to show water and oil temp in real time (or anything else for that matter) for when you're on the track.

Oil pressure isn't measured by the ECU, there's just an "idiot" light that comes on when oil pressure is too low. You can get an oil pressure gauge for that. Here's the one I'm putting in - just use the subaru oil galley plug to fit the sensor. http://prosportgauges.com/amber-whit...ure-gauge.aspx

We use the P3 Cars gauge for gauges as they blend nicely for an OEM look. You can get an oil pressure sensor that will work with the P3 Gauge which is pretty nice.

Software based is my interest, i don't have to have guages everywhere since this isn't a track car but would see the track once in a while and would like to make sure things are ok. Thanks
I am willing to ride along and hold your laptop. I will even give you live readings if you want.

Sounds like a plan waiting on the oil cooler and hood to get here to jump on the track. Trying to help those temps stay down and get some track time before summer really sets in.

Yeah I actually considered it but have my wideband/boost in the AC cent. Still a good choice to see al those readings.

Our first load of AIM Solos and Solo DLs came in and went out! Some to FT86Club members!

We are having a few units drop shipped to the track for us for this weekend.

I'm looking forward to testing the Solo DL on our Spec86 this weekend. Although that unit will ultimately go in our Project BRZ and the MXL2 or MXG will go in the Spec86.
