Is the DRL brightness only adjustable with the headlights on?

I don't know which version you have but in EUDM it turns on with clearance lights or headlights.

So, a quick recap on EUDM cars fitted with this kit.

@Vinzou67 and @banane63 have toasted (or partially toasted) their modules in a matter of days. One is a rewired USDM the other a JDM, I believe.
Over-current due to the tail lights connection?

What about you, @Trap63? Yours is a rewired USDM, correct? Does it turn on your tail lights too?

@Diode Dynamics, would you care to chime in on this?

I am having second thoughts about fitting mine which just arrived.

Okay I fitted mine (a JDM version for my EUDM car). Everything seems to be working as it should so far.

Unfortunately I'm having the same problem that a majority of the people are having. The DRLs DO NOT turn on when it's off, but they DO when the lights are in 'park' (both boomarang and DRL) and 'on' (everything turns on). Thanks to [Ron] for the vid, but that's exactly my problem. So far I've tried these troubleshooting steps:

1) Ensuring all wires and the relay is properly and tightly connected, the result is still the same, DRLs and boomerangs do not come on in the OFF and AUTO position (during the day ofc).

2) Reinstalling the factory relay to ensure the DRLs are working. The DRLs definitely comes on when the factory relay is in, then turns off when I installed the relay from the Always-On module. (Leads me to believe it's an issue with the relay)

3) I've also double checked the jumpers, even trying to set it as the opposite of what the instructions say but the DRLs and Boomarangs still don't come on. (originally when I installed it I left it as it was anyway).

4) Someone said the car has to be ON during the installation, so I've tried having the car on and off during the installation but still no luck. Also had the car on and the lights on and off during the installation, also no luck...

5) Since I had to work today I also drove the car with the module installed in case it was something to do with a drive cycle to get it working (as mentioned by a few). I went to work in the morning (headlights off) and back home at night (headlights on). Drive was about 40 minutes each way. Tested it again at home just now and car is completely dark when lights are off...

I'm out of ideas. And I have made sure the DRLs are on as stressed in the instructions because they definitely come right on when I put the factory relay back in.

Update: DD replied to my email and is sending a replacement, fingers crossed!

I just received the JDM / AU / EU Kit today, installed it and it works! You can't imagine how happy I am

Especially after the disappointing experience with the first kit that didn't work on my EU car.

If you have a Greddy intake, or if you remove the original air filter system, it's easy to route the cable under it : behind the vertical metal part between the vents at the bottom there is space enough for the plug to pass. Then you move the cable up under the trunk shut, and fix it with some plastic collars on both ends.

Received my RMA, installed and works perfectly as advertised. Looks like my issue with the video I posted was in fact a faulty relay.
