Help on what I am seeing

Background: I am looking to buy an FRS but waiting to find the one. Still working on color (thinking firestorm). Recently one is for sale in my area. It looks like someone had done some work on it. Aftermarket exhaust and not sure what else, dealer doesn't know much either.

Name: engine.jpg
Views: 1571
Size: 133.3 KB

Can someone tell me what I am looking at? This picture (I realize not the best but I took it off the dealerships site) looks different than most of the FRS engines I have looked at.

Also, when the car first came up for sale it was a disaster as in animal hair everywhere. Would you be concerned about buying a car that might have been raced and not necessarily taken care of? Some racers take car of their ride but this one doesn't seem to fit that bill.

Thanks for any insight.

I see that it has an aftermarket intake (Perrin?), sound tube delete, and pulleys.

Full Perrin air intake, and looks like a Perrin lightweight crank pulley.

There are also headers and coilovers with adjustable camber plates. Which company has red plates, RSR?

edit: I think I would pass on this one. The engine and suspension would not be under warranty, and that's just with a preliminary look.

Didn't notice that off the bat. Could also be cheap BC racing Coils.

OP: you should lowball them because of the mods. Then you can turn around and keep them or sell them off.

Yep. Pulley, intake and (of course with intake) sound tube delete.

Pretty easy to see the differences from this:

Ever any concern that these aren't installed correctly and might be causing problems on the car? I want to be able to do some of the work myself on this so a little worried when there is stuff I don't know what it is.

They want $19,990 with 21,000 miles.

I was thinking that but giving the benefit of the doubt that the pic was just washed out.
If is in fact that dirty I would be a bit nervous as to how it was kept up.

I didn't pop the hood when I looked at it. The interior was pretty bad with animal hair everywhere. Nothing else looked bad but I didn't even sit in it. Was going to wait until the dealership cleaned it up.

The painted bits are dull and the black bits are brown, so I'm going with VERY dirty.

Which reminds me, I need to clean my engine bay.

For just a few K more you can buy a new one with a warranty. That hasn't been modded or raced. It's worth the peace of mind. Also you should get a lower interest rate on a new car.
