What a great race! I'm so thrilled with the results! Working for Audi, it's music to my ears to hear they finished first and second overall! To hear the Toyotas and the Subaru won their classes, too? Icing on the cake! My day is made
![]() Arguably the world’s toughest endurance race, the 2012 Nürburgring 24 Hours ended with the Audi Sport Team Phoenix R8 LMS ultra capturing the victory after 155 grueling laps on the ‘Green Hell’. “It was a great weekend for us, for the whole team,” [Marcus] Winkelhock (driver of the R8) said. “We had a perfect car that had no problems. It’s just amazing to stand on the podium. It was a really tough race and is really competitive.”

Sweet! Gazoo has had a few struggles the past few years at the 'ring. Good to see the team pull through.
Anyone find a good list of the overall classification? (to ensure these weren't 1st out of 3 results, haha) |

True, but it's a great start nonetheless! It's very important for a car like this to achieve victories in racing, for the "win-on-Sunday, sell-on-Monday" strategy. Look at cars like the Datsun 240Z, which almost right away started winning races in nearly every class it competed in, whether it was club racing, pro racing, or rallying. It put Nissan and small Japanese sports cars on the map! Or the R32 GT-R, which dominated Group A and subsequently got Nissan kicked out of Grp.A racing for being too fast. The new GT-R continues to do extremely well. Other cars like the Audi Quattro come to mind, which was the first successful AWD rally machine, or Subaru's Impreza which won several times in WRC competition. All of these cars are now cult classics as a result, which I'm now fairly certain the 86/FR-S/BRZ will now begin to achieve!
