Hi guys.

First post the 86 club.

My name's Kevin and Im scrupulously searching for the right swp brz.

A friend of mine told me I'm going to hate it as soon as I drive it coming from a full bolt on rsx-s. I've never driven one or even sat in one.

If any of you folks are going to be at CnC I'd like to get your views and opinions and maybe a test-sit (lol)

It's still active. I think people are learning that the sears meet up is dead/dieing due to getting kicked out every 30 minutes. I think people are starting at sun foods again.

Haven't been out this season yet.

Welcome to the forum and hope that you enjoy your twin as much as I enjoy mine.

As for CnC, I'd expect a few people will be out there, know of one member for sure. As my Garage Queen is officially on the ground right now, she hasn't the right insurance coverage yet. But that's just a phone call and the weather looks promising for Saturday.

I can tell you that I fully enjoy my twin (still stock for now) on the road coarse @ BIR or any twisty road we can find. I'm happy with her as is, but wouldn't mind a few more ponies. You will probably mod yours, just guessing. People seem to be making a lot of power with the twins, all depends upon what you want to do with it. There are plenty of add-ons out there and lot's of great information here in the forum.

Thanks for the welcome.

Was it moderately fun at bir? Or would you say it was a full on blast to take around the road course up there?

I was originally between a brz and a G37s but eventually realized I'm not ready to own a boring(yet powerful) luxury car yet. Also have access to an evox for cheap but I still think the brz is the best option for a new car that I can feel perfectly at home running autox and roadcourse. Hopefully the cost to maintain an 86 is nominally less than the evo.

Just going to be hard going cruising with my rsx friends getting left on the hwy in a brand new car lol.

My immediate plans would be wider wheels and something for suspension. If I can in fact afford the loan/payments/insurance I'd entertain the thought of full blowns turbo kit for next season. If it really does feel slow anyways.

300hp on 93pump at 7ish psi sounds like the absolute perfect place to be with this car.

Either way I've droned on long enough. Thanks again for the welcome

I came from a track setup rsx (mostly stock power though) and love the BRZ. I've also had it out to BIR on the road course, and it's just as much fun if not more than the RSX.

I've been on the track with both stock power and now supercharged, and both are a riot, but while typical street driving stock power is fun, you wish for more on the road course. Still, I'd change wheels, tires and suspension first.

I should be very close to 300whp after my RS motors tune and my header and smaller S/c pulley. I Will be at BIR in June for PG2k15.1 and I'd be able to give you a ride on the road course if you'd like.

That was a lot of encouraging information, thank you.

I hope to find the right car next month and have it by the time pg1 comes around. That being said I probably won't be able to afford all the right parts and registration for the road course by pg1 and I would positively love a ride in a fi brz. Hopefully it doesn't give me the itch too hard to get boosting too quick.

Haha. Yea registration is prob $200 min, and you absolutely need brake pads and fluid.

Anything beyond that is just more fun. Look me up if you'll be there. I'm in Fargo ND so I typically don't hit many cities events.

I hear you about droning on and thanks for the opportunity to do so.

The BIR road coarse is a complete full on blast. It's pretty much all new surface as of last year and safer now that they moved the exit lane on the short coarse (my favorite). These cars are awesome in the curves and with upgrades, even better. I like to watch the kids play at the proving grounds and then HPDS on Monday, less traffic. Have been complimented many times by faster cars for the lines I'm able to run on the curves there. Done droning.

Planning on running some milk truck roads that I rode my Kawasaki on years ago. Keep yourself sub'd if you're interested in that type of thing, I'll be posting about it in a month or so.

It'd be nice to get up there on days without events like pg or power cruise going on but being down in the cities it'd be hard to get out there on a weekday. Well more so hard to get friends to come out during the week. I know a few would be interested though.

We've gone cruising back in WI a few times as a club. It was a great time. I'd always be interested in some natural g's.

I'll be there with another 86er from this forum. Hit me up if you want to check out our cars. I'm around 270whp if you want to see how it compares to the rsx, I think with a small budget you can make the car extremely enjoyable.
