Power built up so quickly that I was redlining "early" and everywhere. Even on the relatively short and tight track I was running (NJMSP Lightning; 1.75 miles), in the fast sections, I found that I needed to shift to a higher gear 75-100 yards earlier than any other time I've been on that track. On the main straight I needed to shift into 6th gear to stay out of redline and avoid simply coasting into turn 1. Amazing and disconcerting.

What made all of this even more interesting were the track conditions: day started at 34 F, and it rained and snowed the day before. Woohoo!

I suppose it's not fair to ask the stock calipers to repeatedly handle 115 or 125 to 70 decels. I was using Winmax 4, RBF 600 and slotted front rotors. But, thermal mass is thermal mass.

Fast cars are fun!

Racesang S1 (red). I didn't want to mess with the other kit since the JRSC changes some of the pulleys that the S2 kit has.

that was my concern. i think if you're NA you can do S2, but if you're FI (with this kit) you might only be able to do the S1.

@CSG Mike I just felt it was right to do everything through Moto-east since they will tune and install for me. Need to give them my full support. Appreciate all the help and answers to my questions though

Guys, since this is an owners thread I am hoping to get some feedback on several questions since honestly for me it's either Jackson or Vortech because I need a Carb kit.

Noise: First off I have heard from one of the vendors here that the Jackson is really loud at cold start and has noticeable whine. Can you comment on what your experience has been?

Fit: I have also heard there are potential fit issues (close to the intake for one). How about the routing of IC piping and bumper cover. I hear everyone say their bumper never lines up again after this, does the piping make it worse? Comments?

Potential: The same dealer said the Vortech has bigger potential (pulley options) etc...to ultimately make more power then the Jackson. Any direct experience with taking the Jackson to another level with higher boost? Ceiling?

I need to pull the trigger soon and I honestly want to hear from owners so I get real opinions based on use and experience. I am not trying to make this a VS war as I know each system has merit but I want to only do this once so I greatly appreciate the experience of you owners out there. Especially those with the Auto a Trans.... Thanks guys and gals!!

Noise: It is a very quiet supercharger. Cold start only lasts a short period of your drive, I wouldn't worry too much about noise for that short amount of time.

Fitment: Mike @ CSG gets the bumper to fit perfectly after installation- like it was never even taken off, so it is possible.

Potential: There are alternate pulley sizes available- Speak with Mike about all that. I'm not too sure about increasing the boost. Next step for power, I'd say, would be exhaust and then flexfuel.

How about
Reliability: If you want something to just install and not have to worry about, JR is the kit for you. Obviously, you'd still have to be aware since its an aftermarket kit, but I'd say its pretty close to install and forget.

Installation:I can only comment about the JR kit, but I heard its one of the easiest kits to install and its very DIY friendly.

Whine is not normal. Cold start is similar to OEM cold start; it's there to warm up the cats. It's not any louder with the CARB tune.

Professional installation should result in a near-original condition. It'll never be 100% perfect, because the stock bumper cannot be removed without some deformation to the bumper and clips, but this applies to ALL kits.

Potential: The same supercharger makes 500hp on an otherwise S2000. The same cannot be said about the Vortech (hint: it's not even OFFERED in the FRS size on a S2000; the S2000 uses a MUCH larger blower, and cannot hit 500hp on an otherwise stock s2000)

Ok, so I have an issue. I'm installing my Jr oil cooler, and when I took off the air cooler, there was supercharger oil in it. Like, a bunch of it. I've only has the charger installed since early January, and haven't had any problems with the car, so I'm not sure if any oil in getting into the intake...

I can't find anything from rotrex, and some I'm limited to mobile my googling is weak and Jackson racings site sticks giant ****s on my phone, so I can't find any support info.

The only thing I've found, is that the oil reservoir sits higher than the supercharger, and rotrex said that it's supposed to be the other way around. But with Jackson racing's setup, it sits higher and literally can't go any lower.

@csgmike help?

Why make a second version if the original works?

Is this the cooler you are referring to?

If so, then yes there will be supercharger oil in it, because that's what the unit cools. Nothing to worry about.

No. I mean the air cooler. What the charger pipe is attached to.

Just wondering, but has anyone had problems with their heads? My friend says they could blow since it is a weak spot on our engines
