Your First Car

Thought this might be fun..

What was your first car?
Did you love / hate it?
If you could, would you buy that car again today?

Here was mine, 1956 VW beetle.
Bought it for $800 when i was 16... Loved that little antique! Went everywhere, 35mpg, and i always knew when it was about to rain, because the damn thing would never start!
If I had my way, I'd love to buy this car again and do a proper restoration...

^ @itsbirdy I like your hoodie ha

I like the idea!

My first car was a 1998 Subaru Impreza RS. Originally had no idea what I wanted, came across one on ebay just browsing for cars when I was 16 and fell in love with it. Found one for a good price and snagged it. Super fun car. Took this terrible picture like right after I bought it

Had it until 2010 and regrettably sold it loved that car so much. I also put quite a bit of time and money into it, my senior year of high school I bought a totalled 2006 wrx with 35k miles for $2800 (just stupid cheap for what it was) and put everything in the RS. Miss this car I will build another some day

1964 Dodge Polara 500 2-Door Hardtop with a push-button automatic transmission.

Paid $300 for it, drove it for two years, dented the front driver fender drag racing, and sold it for $450.

(not mine, but looked exactly like this except I had black steelies, no hubcaps and a buckle in the front fender)

To answer @Danklvr original questions:

Loved it. A lot of good high school memories made in this car.
Would I buy it again? Just for the nostalgia factor, yes, if I was collecting cars it would be on my list.

Mine was a 10 year old '64 Impala SS convertible. Exactly the same as the one below but not that one as I would have to dig through boxes of these things called "printed pictures" to find the real thing.
It was my pride and joy for several years but fell victim to some vandals (slashed top, seats, door panels, padded dash) and the good old 60s cars rust demons.

1986 Honda Prelude 2.0Si

Loved it while it was new(ish) but as the mileage piled up so did the classic Honda rot! Still a really fun car for its time!

The way you are walking with whatever it is in your hand immediately brought this to mind! You didn't happen to be singing Singing in the Rain did you?

Maroon Ford Aerostar. Had almost 400,000 miles on it by the time I sold it.

Loved it to death simply because of the freedom it gave me.

First car I drove (not owned, but my parents wouldn't let me own my own car) was the 1993 Mercury Topaz, in white:

The thing was boring as hell, and was actually voted "most boring car" by Playboy in 1994. That said, it was damn near bulletproof (except for the water pump), and off-roaded better than some SUVs of the time.

First car I bought on my own was the 2007 tC, which I later had TRD supercharged. People knocked the $4k price for the supercharger (installed), but I really felt it was money well spent. (picture is my personal car)

(yes, I was a Bleach fan for a while. Don't judge )

89' Celica St given to me by my parents. Not my pic. Ceclia died in a six car pileup. Loved the car. Would not buy it.

First car I purchased 90civic si, not my pic, but similar. Jdm front/rear/Suspension/exhaust/header/rollbar/B16a/cams/valvetrain/4.4 final drive/8k redline/ no a/c and no heater/gutted. Being in vegas and thermometer blows up in your car at 112 degrees with you in it. Spray bottle was my a/c and my heater was a t-shirt stuffed into a hole in a firewall, remove to turn on heat. It was so fun reving the car to the end of the tach at 8k. 5k rpm@85mph wasn't so great though.
Loved it.
Would buy it again. But cannot find it in decent condition.

i loved that car, learned how to drive manual on that, learned how to do brakes, oil changed and simple maintense etc etc

i rigged a muffler from a dodge Viper onto the car, painted a racing stripe (total ricer moments)

learned how to sauder with this car, i truly miss it

i actually went on to own a 2003 dodge neon
a 2005 dodge neon SRT4
