The points will be on the Ontario scale. 3 points for improper passing, if i recall.

so for example, a 'guy' I know once had a few speeding tickets in QC, on hwy 105 near wakefield in fact! 135 in a 90 was the charge, in QC that is 3 points, in Ontario it is 4.
so on the verge of suspension for multiple speeding tickets, 'guy' decided to fight the last one. found out the distance to the court house would mean 'guy' taking a whole day off work, hired xcopper to handle it. in QC if you do not go in person then a lawyer has to go instead, cost $500. after the judge felt like pushing the trial date, it took over a year to get it done. they reduced the fine from $250 to $125 but the points remained.
'guy' even tried argue entrapment as the officer or his vehicle was not really visible.
end of the day, 'guy' had to pay $625 and still lost the 4 points, leading to a suspension for 60days.

there is a damned good reason xcopper does not offer the 'get you off guarantee or free' in QC, they cant expect to win in a normal court trial.

Very helpful info. Looks like fighting it is more of a financial risk, if anything.

Once I hear back from my Broker ( on wedensday ) I will make a decision in my course of action, I am just hoping that the demerits don't screw me.

To add,

I hear it is not the demerit points that effect your rates, how ever the conviction's do

ill also add, although it could be to late now that you told the broker, I heard through some people once that if you dont tell them and dont make any policy changes for a few years until the points/conviction comes off... they will never know. but if you draw attention to yourself and they find out, rates get jacked.

but of course I have never tried such a thing, that would be dishonest...

Don't give any information to your insurance ever. They will figure it out when they look at your profile and adjust accordingly
