Zypr are allowing programmer to combine multiple apps together for new functionality, like Facebook with GPS to find out where you're suppose to meet up with your friends, instead of stopping the car, taking out your phone, logging onto Facebook, find the location, and input it into your GPS. It also adds things like finding a restaurant and sending the location to your friends.
Thanks for the write up. I still don't get why there's so much fuss though. Yes it would be useful, but it seems like this could be a breaking point for people. It just seems like the latest and greatest that everyone wants. For the money I'd rather just ask for directions when I get the invite, if I don't already know the way.

Then again, I have a pay as you go phone without a data plan.

?? - I was asked if I wanted base or premium audio (neither being bespoke) and I want that ugly base stereo with all the buttons. Are you saying it's going to be that middle ground one with the single knob on the left and flat lcd for most of the right side?

I think the kit radio is the standard double din size. I do not think a dash kit will be required in these cars...unless you want to put an ipad in your dash lol

Scion's head units are double din height, but slightly wider. You'll need filler panels on either side with an aftermarket head unit.

Just answering my own question since Canada build-FRS site is now up. Base audio is the base audio, and for 550 you get a midrange unit that's not bespoke but half touchscreen (1 knob for power/volume). Same wattage more or less.

Thanks for the info. I knew Subaru used oversized faces on their US stereos and I was trying to track down if Scion was any different.

Does the BeSpoke system work with Android phones? I understand a lot of people have iPhone but it would be a damn shame for them to loose the upgrade to all of the Android users as well as all of the people who want GPS functionality.... I am currently looking into units which I can run Google Maps from my Galaxy Nexus from... its FREE on my phone (navigation) and excellent- I would hate to buy anything else...

Furthermore, it would be a nightmare to have my facebook and other services constantly updating while im trying to enjoy driving...what a nightmare...

lol. Android connectivity? any reccomendations for aftermarket double din's which can do this and look clean and simple?
