OP, where did you see this ad running?

I tend to agree that it is for the purpose of getting the attention of the fashionistas. That could increase sales... keep the brand alive. I don't see that as a bad thing and who really gives a crap about a terrible ad? Are you really going to stop drinking your favorite beer based on a bad TV ad? Did you drive the car before you bought it? Do you like your car? Then stop bitchin'.

Besides, if the young and rich actually start buying this car in droves, its cool factor will go WAYYY up.

I was just browsing through youtube when it popped up, clicked on it. Interesting take on it. Do I think the video is awesome? no, not really. I do like the fact that they have actual Tuner brands that I would purchase like Vortech, SSR, etc.

I also enjoy the fact that SCION is taking different approaches with their creativity. The Toyota 86 brought alot of needed sales to the SCION brand. I hope they continue to see the FRS as a car they need to fund and keep around. Notice the increase in surveys the past couple years for current SCION/Subaru owners? Well, they are listening to an extent and are putting our opinions to work.

I'm not quite sure what I watched, but I feel like this is a dreadlocked Derek Zoolander meets Scion FRS. I like it, but I think I would have liked it more if it was actually Derek Zoolander; this comes off as a little too serious. Maybe the guy should have blue steeled the camera harder or something... Haha!

Yep, this video dramatically increases the odds the Scion badges on my FR-S will be replaced one day. Scion needs to be bold and remain affordable with their car lineup, or go away. Commercials like that won't help Scion brand at all. The cars sell the brand, not the other way around...

Like it or not, the original xB was unique and turned heads. The current model just blends in with traffic. That's the problem. Scion is a chance for Toyota to take risks, without using Toyota branding on the vehicles. Why on earth are they playing it safe with boring cars? What happened to the Fuse? iQ was a great idea but late to the micro car party. tC is okay, but seems dated. They just can't seem to get it together.

They come up with a crappy commercial like that for the one car that could save the brand. That commercial would have made more sense for the xB, not a car that can sell itself out of the box. You just have to show this car in action. See it, hear it ...that's all.

Sometimes I wish Sam Kinison were still around to yell about stupid things like this. Bill Burr would do well commenting on this topic. Uggghh...
