I think our steering rack is mounted behind the center line of the front wheels, where most cars are in front of it. I wonder if that would affect anything.
but I am also curious, compared to my stock 93 240sx, the frs steering is very heavy and lacks almost any road feedback. but then again, I did have poly steering rack bushings.

Pull the fuse and try it if you want. The steering on my rx8 went out (stupid placement on mazda's part) and it was a pain in the ass. No problem while moving, but parking was annoying. Very Annoying. I bring up the rx8 only because it was also an electric assist rack. But hey, to each his own.

What would be the benefit? The motor is so high up the column I doubt you would gain more road feel. It's not like theres fluid dampening the shocks.

Exactly... This is the system enthusiasts and pros have been asking for for years! The power assist is only used when it's needed.. like for low speed tight turns.. Otherwise it's not intrusive at all.. This system is damn near perfect...

Finally got around to doing this. Fucking terrible. I think my suspension has a lot to do with it though. I think it would be less of a rodeo on stock suspension, but if you're on stock suspension and trying to delete the power steering... what sort of build are you going for here?

Of all things, the feel wasn't too heavy. I was actually surprised. But even as crazy as I am about saving weight, I'll be leaving that system alone. Happy to have it.
