The tesla roadsters story is infamous. They pretended the car ran out of charge when it didn't. Why if manufacturers are really concerned about the track time they bring their own pro drivers to be the stig.
Their goal is ratings. |

The RC-F is a great GT car. Looks good, has a great sounding NA V8, and the Interior has flashes of the LF-A. But as a track toy or dual purpose car, its just can't measure up to other cars in the same price range. Its a pig weight wise as well. At least Toyota is trying. Lets see what the future holds.

Everything about the car is fine except for the weight. If it weighed 500 lbs less, it'd be pretty damn competitive in its class.

All of the comments about weight make me laugh. The car consistently is rated above the competition as a daily driver, has the highest crash test rating of the segment, and is built to Lexus quality. If I wanted a 400lb lighter car that may or may not be faster on a given track on any given day that spends the remainder of its life in the repair shop, I'd have purchased an M4. I drive my car daily.
I am no expert racer, so I can care less about which car is faster or quicker. I will run a few HPDE events per year, and enjoy every minute of it. Lexus ride, quality, reliability, the unique look, the smooth feel and rumble of a naturally aspirated V8 are what sold me on the RC F. Weight was never even part of the equation. |

I had an FRS. My wife drives the 2014 four door IS F-Sport. I MUCH prefer the look of the RC F over the IS F. Thank you for the advice, but I respectfully disagree with your position.

Which one does your wife have? ISF ~400+hp IS 250 F-sport ~200+hp not much sport imo. IS 350 F-sport ~300+hp RCF ~467hp RC 350 F sport ~300+hp I like how the marketing department masks the difference between a real "F" performer and a "F-sport" sport style. |
