I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say he wants to know the flow rate/pressure of the pump to see if there's enough room to up the flow rate to the GDI injectors without effecting the pressure seen by the port injectors.

The Dinan Warranty mirrors BMW's new car warranty on cars still covered under new car warranty. So pretty much if you got a Dinan cold air intake right after you bought the car then you'd have 4 years (BMW new car warranty is 4yrs 50,000mi) of coverage, if you bought the cold air intake 1 year into owning the car then you'd have the remaining 3 years as the Dinan warranty.
If the vehicle is out of warranty then the Dinan warranty mirrors BMW's parts warranty, which is 2 years unlimited miles. The good thing about Dinan's warranty is unlike many other brand specific performance sectors they'll repair/replace any components that might have been damaged by the failed or defective Dinan component (because it's covered under their warranty not BMW's, but to the customer it makes literally no difference; either way they aren't paying anything).

That's a possibility but we get sued all the time for random non-sense that may or may not be our fault. It's still business as usual but we're a VERY large shop (53 technician bays/lifts), so that might not be the same across the board.

Sadly it doesn't matter how much you make, look in the back of your warranty book. Almost every manufacturer has an arbitration clause. Which means if you have a dispute about coverage, they will pay for a mediator to hear both sides and make a legally binding resolution.

It will take a lot more than your average BMW owner's income to have deep enough pockets to bring that into a court room, and will be more expensive than any warranty repair you could think of.

Arbitration clauses are worthless boilerplate legalese that are unconstitutional at best; I have five class-action settlement notices posted on my fridge and three others being negotiated that all had arbitration clauses in their Terms & Conditions... they're meaningless and get thrown out on a regular basis.

1. I'd go back to my "honda" roots, i.e. stock bottom end + forged rods, low comp pistons. Borg Warner equivalent of GT30R with a big back end = fun

2. If i wanted to go ghetto, id go stock block + low boost (<10 psi) + smaller turbo and when it shit the bed, see no. 1

Talking frs

I work at southeast toyota. 14 lucky people have the frs now, their not even gonna be at dealerships until the 25th of this month. Even then each dealer is only getting one. I get to drive and work with them all day. They are sick...

^^ Someone doesn't know how to post in the right forum ^^

I'll take the first intercooled supercharger kit that comes with a ROM-tuned ECU and gets me to 280+bhp with no internal work other than possibly thicker head gaskets. Hopefully it'll be a kit developed and put together in the U.S. so I don't have to pay more than $5k for it. KraftWerks, are you listening?

That Gazoo Racing twincharger setup looks amazing, I gotta say! I'm sure it's nowhere near my budget and who knows if they'll even make one! It must have an incredible powerband, though!

oooh, fun "what if" thread. Personally If TRD builds a kit for this, which I'm sure they will, I'll likely go that direction. I've had a TRD built SC system and while they often have some things they do wrong, reliability and ease of install are not on that list. Put 100K on my old M62 1mz charger and the engine never had any issues, just replaced the SC oil a couple times.

If TRD doesn't, then I'd be open to whichever induction type and brand people have the best results from.

The HKS hit 280 (probably more like 290) bhp but they apparently had a lot more than just a supercharger and intercooler bolted on. Without upping the revs or dropping compression (bad! imho), I think you really can't hope for more than 25% increase. Probably can't just give it a thicker head gasket because the injector spray is supposed to interact with the piston bowl to bring fuel closer to the spark plug.

Right now peak power is at 7000rpm, and we have 7500rpm to play with, so there's not really room to move the power up. The volumetric efficiency is apparently a bit low since the torque isn't great, so maybe that creates a little extra room for boost, but we apparently the stock engine already has some knock and runs very rich...perhaps it could use some E85 hehe.
