The thought of what car to get after the FRS is bothersome. The FRS does everything right (althought some creature comforts can be better) but what other cars will there be that offers the same amount of satisfaction with an affordable price tag (new car)?

There are Porsches, BMWs, etc that might provide similar experience but the price tag will be much higher.

After driving the FRS for almost two years now, I know i've been spoiled with pure driving satisfaction and it will be hard to find something similar in the future that fits all the categories the FRS excels at.

This is the exact reason I think this car is such a bargain.

The real unfortunate thing is bmw use to be great at offering a good balance of sport/luxury, but those days are gone. They tamed the sportiness to sell more cars and the weight of the cars just continue to rise.

So, now you are just left with porsche, but the price jump to those are quite high. I sure do love the new cayman gt4 though. Now only if I could justify spending 90k+ on one.

Dealership gave me a corolla as a rental while they had my brz. I felt like George Jetson driving Fred Flintstone's "car" for a day. I have never stopped appreciating my car after that.

Spring weather hit, so after work the GF and I roll the mustang convertible out of the garage, fill it with fresh gas, head out in to the countryside for dinner in a little town in the hills tonight.

The Mustang is HUGE! The seats are ENORMOUS. The hood is like a football field! The clutch feels so.. so BEEFY.. (I like the clutch.. it's heavy.) The gearshift isn't quite as surgical... but then it doesn't need to be.. not shifting every 2 seconds.

Yep.. we were grinning. "I like this car!" we both said at the same time. After dinner, I took a wrong turn and ended up having to turn around and we still have lots of sand on the roads. Of course I slid the back end around. "Shit! This thing weighs a ton!" It was like drifting a Lincoln Town Car. "You just like going sideways" she laughed. "I only like going sideways in snow." This logic makes her the "responsible one."

Which is better? I don't care! I don't have to choose. For highway trips, cruising lazily and packing groceries... vs. wanting to feel connected to the road. Both are good!

I traded a 2009 Camry XLE for the FR-S. It had a lot of grandpa bells and whistles and comfort features that I normally don't care for. Our other vehicle is a base Toyota Highlander. For South Carolina roads, the worst in the USA, it can be hard to thoroughly enjoy the FR-S. Annual car taxes are extremely high here and 90% of what you pay goes to schools, not roads. Most folks here drive the biggest trucks and SUVs they can afford, which wear out the cheaply paved roads in no time. To top things off, old city water supply pipes keep bursting under roads causing all kinds of problems. I LOVE my FR-S, just wish it had Toyota/GT86 badges, but the Camry and Highlander are great for crappy SC roads.

Recently, I had my car in the shop to repair some body damage and I don't think I realized how deeply I love my car until I was not able to drive it.

I don't think that I necessarily take my car for granted because our other car is a Toyota Sienna SE and while serving a useful purpose for space and cargo capacity, it is definitely at the opposite end of the spectrum of automobiles. I enjoy having the choice of two cars and will typically pick my car if given the option.

I still remember scaring the living crap out of my family when I accidentally took our Sienna through a nearby roundabout at the same speed that I normally would with my FR-S. It just plowed through the thing all of the while the tires were howling in pain from what I was asking them to do. My wife was looking at me afterwards as if I was some sort of crazy lunatic. In a way, she really doesn't like it when I take it quick in the FR-S either, but, as long as I don't drift through the roundabout, she tolerates it as I giggle like a tickled baby boy.

I can't say enough about how much I love this car. It's not perfect stock, but mine will be perfect soon

I have had very little complaints. Haven't had any rattles and I'm still not even really sure what "crickets" are or if I have them. No real issues with road noise or ride comfort either. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

It needs some tweaking, sure, but that's the fun part anyway. I have a solid 2 days of mod installs built up that I haven't gotten to yet.. I cannot wait for the result. Haven't felt this kind of anticipation since I was a little kid waiting for Christmas!

I originally wanted a WRX, but when I test drove the BRZ, the car just felt so tight and nimble, I preferred the BRZ, despite losing all the extra space/doors/seating etc. I always try to find an excuse to take my car out for a spin! I love the BRZ

I love how this car, as good as it is out of the box, does encourage you to tinker it and make it yours - if you want the sound to be more sporty and aggressive, you can do it. If you want your shifter to be even sharper and have even less "slop", you can do that too.

Being as i will have an FR-S in the summer I can't appreciate it right now and since I am not a well off guy and only financed one vehicle ever, for 3 years, and I have been saving for over a year now and will have enough to buy this June/July. I work 13 hour shifts Mon-Thurs. to save for this car. I will take pride in the fact I worked for every penny on my own and no bank or parental involvement is involved. My dad has offered but this is something I must do. I never had a new car in my life I always bought used so now I am in a position where I can save to buy. I will baby it but not to extreme lengths. I'n the winter I will have a car cover for it when snow is forecast and drive the Landcruiser and just keep it clean inside and out, treat it to some track time, a track run or two and plenty of winding roads. I will appreciate it everyday as I look at it from my window, shift gears, drive to work, and enjoy the twisties with some nice tunes. Looking so forward to enjoying every second of this car.
