Buy leather/alcanatra BRZ Dash?

Hey!

Just wondering where I can find a brz dashboard (singular or dual piece) for the US car in alcanatra or leather? JPM doesn't seem to sell them anymore.. anyone have any idea?

I'd Email/PM JPM directly. They still make a lot of things that aren't on their site.

Or you can bond your own two pieces into one and wrap it yourself. It is not difficult to do. The hardest part is stomaching the ~$100/yard price you have to pay for Alcantara.

Save some money and just get some ultrasuede fabric?

Ehhh.. I've worked with both and ultra suede is nowhere near as soft or supple as alcantara.

More importantly the ultrasuede is nowhere near as UV resistant as Alcantara. I had it on the dash of the STI for 5 years and it was as dark when I sold the car as when I put it on (I could compare because I had leftover material in my garage). You put ultrasuede on your dash it will be fading by the end of the summer.

I don't know how well ultrasuede cleans up, but Alcantara is amazing. I've removed coffee, mud, oversprayed glue and it came out great.

Call Alex at JPM, he'll take care of you. They just did this for me. Have to send in your dash pieces. Also did the gauge hood and ebrake boot (send yours in or you have to adhesive it yourself)

I love Alex and JPM and have had them do a lot of work for me over the years, but I cannot understand why people elect to have their logo on their dash. It is genius on their part, having people pay them to advertise for them.

They cut some off the price if you have the logo.

I think it's more dependent on the quality of the ultrasuede that you buy. Not whether or not it's called ultrasuede or Alcantara.

I'm more than willing to give it a try if you know a legitimate place to get it. Cause the stuff I got off of amazon wasn't impressive.

I know you can buy the alcantara directly from JPM in cover, panel, and perforated type in a wide variety of colors. I would trust that source over anything from eBay or Amazon IMO.

All Alcantara from the US comes through Gulf Fabrics in Florida, they are the sole US importer. If you want to buy the material, Overland Designs is the best price I've found, he buys so much he gets a discount from Gulf and passes it on to you. Buying directly from Gulf is a pain because they want you to set up an account, blah blah blah.

I don't know how you tell the 'quality' of ultrasuede because it is a type of material, not a material itself. The only stuff called Alcantara is real Alcantara. Of course if you are purchasing from ebay or Alibaba all bets are off

I had them do my lettering in all black, so it blends into the alcantara. You can still see it, but it isn't as much of a contrast.
