Just waiting and waiting and waiting for the Tomei 60R (it weighs a whole 28 pounds less than stock!!!11!!1) and Open Flash Headers (which are apparently delayed because of some port shutdown) to arrive. #sadface

And yesterday I ordered a replica AB Flug spoiler and an HIC roof spoiler. Very looking forward to that.

I really should've been smart about things and bought the FR-S used to help offset the cost. Oh well

I wouldn't have splurged on the setup had I not gotten my annual bonus and a pay raise this month. Now to save for the rear wing, vented hood, and supercharger setup, then I think I'll be done. For the most part...

Nahhhh nicer to have a virgin to start with when you are taking it as far as you are.
Would love to do more with mine but the miles I rack up just don't warrant it.

Took advantage of the 53°F conditions to wash my car outside for the first time since November. I used my favorite ONR (Optimum No-Rinse Wash and Shine) for a quick wash. Still, the result is better than any of the "touchless" car washes that I went through this winter.

Unfortunately, the car was so dirty that I may have ruined one of my favorite bunny-soft microfiber wash towels. Looks like I'll need to go to the dollar store soon to pick up some more.

Well I was working on putting the test footage of the GoPro and Tascam setup on YouTube, but after 3 hours of rendering I realized the audio got desynced 15 minutes in due to my mistake. Time to re render it tonight and upload it tomorrow.

Question for y'all - do you prefer the tow hook mounted, POV style drive videos, or the suction cup attached to the windshield, higher up but some view of the hood style?

I may do the windshield on the way up to Kernville, given the sheer amount of bugs on Granite road I end up running into. Once I'm in the sequoias / kern canyon, they're much less numerous. At that point I may switch to the tow hook to show how nice the canyon road is.

I don't know but think a bunch of bug impacts could make for a very entertaining video (briefly while you can still see them)

To answer your actual question though unless you can aim the tow ring one just right I would go with the windshield. Seen way two many low videos where you just sit and wonder what is actually going on as road flashes past.

The Raceseng Tug View Mount worked really well from the footage I got of my drive home yesterday. When I upload it tomorrow you all can see if it looks good or not.

I'm just excited to start sharing these California roads with y'all.

That's awesome. She's thinking "this is going to mine some day dad, try saying no to this face". Nothing better than being a father.

Haha, she loves it. She said "wash daddy car?" when I got the buckets out. She loves riding around in it. She will certainly learn how to drive stick in either the FR-S or the MINI. We have had the mini for 10 years. What is another 13?

Consider installing the GoPro app - if you have a WiFi-capable GoPro, it will allow you to preview/view the camera's feed from your smartphone.
When I tested the front tow-hook mount, I found it was very easy to have the camera "tilted" because it isn't apparent when you are just looking at the camera.

I feel the tow-hook view gives you more of a sensation of speed, and is more dramatic.
