I've been dealing with a problem on my Dashlinq for the last few months, have been in contact with CaFi support and they haven't been able to figure it out yet. Hopefully you guys will have a better idea.
I have narrowed my issue down to this: when the WiFi is turned on and I am around some "bad" access point near my home the unit will reboot to the CaFi boot screen. I have narrowed it down to WiFi; crashes when car turns on and I'm at home, crashes when I toggle WiFi on/off near my home, doesn't crash when I'm ~500ft or so away from home and do the same. I have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get crash logs or other information from the device to no avail. I even purchased a different WiFi dongle based on the fact there are two drivers installed (8188eu.ko and 8192cu.ko), but I couldn't get it to work either. It renders the radio almost useless since it will reboot loop until I drive away from my home. If I drive away, the reboot loop stops and then I can drive back to my house and it will associate with my home WiFi. I have disconnected my home WiFi and the problem persists, so it's not my own router. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any ideas on what might be the cause and how I can fix it? It has been occurring for around 6 months and survived multiple upgrades and factory resets. |

That is a weird one... Can you use your phone or another device to see what other access points are around that area. I guess the idea is try and find a way to pinpoint which AP is cause the problem, if it is an AP causing it. The issue could also be other radio interference in the area. I've heard stories of police radios shutting down servers cause every night an officer would park along the side of a building to enter reports and such.

Hey everyone! I have a few issues with my dashlinq, firstly, is there anyway for the headunit to launch into an Tourqe everytime the car is turned on? It gets frustrating having to go into it everytime. Also, is there a way for Poweramp to remember where in a song you were up to when you start your car again?
Thanks! |

2) For Poweramp to remember last played position you need to put it on pause every time you turn dashlinq off. There's no other way as it seems. I know for shure that there are players that remember position without pause, but I don't remember which I tried (it had very tiny buttons for a car player, so I swithed to Poweramp). In my opinion players can't remember position because there is no power-off event in dashlinq, apparently it just kills the power so Android and apps don't know that they soon to be killed. Like taking the battery out of your phone. Quote:
I think that the right knob is connected directly to the FM module and can't be programmed in android. |

Anyone else get error when trying to download apps saying that there is insufficient space? Also is there a newer update with no carhome apart from the original? I've messed around so much with this install Im wanting to start fresh.

You have to go into the filesystem and delete a bunch of cached app files. Can't remember where they are but there's a couple of posts in this thread that talks about what you have to do.

As for no-carhome, the "CarHome" app is still present, but can be disabled with a tweak to a specific file in the update.zip before installing it. I don't remember which file it is or what edit to make, but a different edit in (IIRC) the same file can be used to change the default volume. On that note, does anyone know (or is anyone willing to risk trying to find out) if removing that volume line will disable the "return to default volume on suspend/startup" function entirely? I'd prefer this to come back at whatever volume I left it at. |

If you open the stock File explorer app on the home screen, you should see something like downloadfile1.apk. Those should be the files to delete.
