Alcantara Center Console DIY
How to Wrap Your Center Console in Alcantara video here: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLmaK_SsR2Y"]How to wrap your center console in Alcantara BRZ FRS GT86 - YouTube[/ame]
Step by Step instructions. 1. Remove the center Console, shifter, ebrake, and center plaque if applicable. 2. Clean the center console well with just soapy water and a micro fiber cloth. You can apply wax and grease remover if you want 3. Prepare. Tape off any over spray location, clips, and ends. 4. Prepare work area. Make sure it is clean and a well vented area. 5. Prepare Alacantara. Measure twice and cut once. 6. Spray the 3M fabric adhesive on the surface and the back side of the fabric. Work on the passenger side first because it has more surface area and is much easier. Continue all around till everything is complete. 7. Use paper clips to help hold the edge. Wrap the edges on. 8. When dry remove all the tape and and paper clips. 9. Cutting the center where the cup holder is. There is a natural cut line that separates the two section. With a fresh razor blade follow the line. 10. Add trim mold. 11. clean up and enjoy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hints and recommendations. If you spray glue and it over spray clean it was water ASAP. Use paper clips instead of what I used. Practice on other objects if you are unsure about your skills. This is about a 3/5 in my option. A lot of time in preparing and working is only 30-60 min. Have fun.

http://store.jpmcoachworks.com/colle...ntara-material
is the one of legit places to buy it. Skip ebay and Amazon. Especially if they say made in China or Taiwan. I want to note that it is only made somewhere in Italy. Wrapping the DIY will come when I get some time.

More likely to color bleed and fade from the UV light. Alcantara is considered automotive grade and is designed to withstand uv light and elements.

^^^^^^^^^^^that's good to know. I got the more expensive one ~_~ Because it said "ideal for headliners, various trim pieces and other areas with curves or complex shapes" I figure a dash would fit in that slot.

I would use 3M Super 90 glue, that is what the guys at JPM use.
Also, the european armrest makes this much simpler. The hardest part by far is getting a clean cut on the opening for the armrest. With the OEM euro cover this becomes trivial because the frame for the armrest covers your cut. |

One other thing that can help is when cutting out the shifter area you need to stretch the material into the depression for the trim ring. If you have a steam machine (like for pants to remove wrinkles) you can get a lot more stretch and get the alcantara all the way down into the opening before you cut the slits to wrap it around the back of the plastic. |
