lol damn wtf. i feel like i have played plenty to have earned more than one..
on a side note im super pissed off that i upgraded my thorn last week unknowing that it only matters if your weapon or armor isnt 331 dmg or whatever...so basically i just wiped the progress on my maxed thorn to reset it to the beginning. that demotivated me so much i havnt even leveled it back up..

My problem is that even with great sites like the100.io, I'm an adult with a job and other real life responsibilities. Very rarely can I say that 3 days from now I'll have 2+ hours to sit down at exactly 8pm to do a raid. I even have a raid group and I barely get to raid with them. Maybe this saturday? Maybe lol So I try to use PUGs, and that's fine for Normal mode, but forget hard, not even worth trying.

right?! nobody has time to wait around to find a group (30min-1hr) then get the fireteam together and into the raid(another 30min) and then spend 2 hours raging at the retards who don’t listen or are unaware of the maps sides (i know you’ve all raged at the one kid who keeps falling off the map and dieing for no reason). the only way a responsible working person can do a raid is either with a group of friends they have known for a while who work well together across many games or you spend this ridiculous amount of time with a random group until four am and call it quits after your umpteenth attempt at the last part of the raids.

The Raids are overrated IMO and that's why I've complained about them so vocally, especially since Bungie has made that the ONLY way to accomplish getting the max gear in the game. As others have said, I work a full time job, have a girlfriend with a kid and with other duties such as making/getting dinner, cleaning up and spending time with the better half it's really hard to find time to sit down and do the Raids for 2-3 hours at a time. It's even more frustrating when you can't complete due to glitches etc. Certainly I don't need max gear for 95% of the game, but I hate being stuck at one level below max indefinitely. It's just a mental thing for me. Anyway, not going to keep beating this horse.
I enjoy a lot of aspects of the game, just going to slow down the time I devote to it until HoW drops. I'm really hoping some great stuff gets added. I'm really a fan of the game and I want it to work. I also don't really jump from game to game so I'd like to have one go to game and hopefully Bungie can live up to their plan for a 10 year franchise. I'm just worried at this rate that we won't get past Destiny 2 unless something changes. They really need to separate the PvE and PvP stuff somehow, just as Paul Tassi on Forbes recommended. |

I dunno, I like VOG, it's set in a super cool environment and has some really good mechanics throughout. Even Hard Mode is quite fun, although you still need a decent group.
CE is more frustrating and relies too much on being strong individuals rather than being a strong team.

You know, I really need to go back and run VoG from start to finish a couple more times. I also would like to try my hand at the Relic since, believe it or now, I have yet to pick it up and use it. Maybe I can get in on a run or two with our new clan. They seem to run the Raids pretty often.

Even grabbing a PUG from destinyLFG and running normal mode is a lot of fun, because for the most part that raid is fun. It's almost laughably easy on normal too, only downside is you cant get Fatebringer or Vex but if you're there for fun you still have a chance at Exotics.

That's the only way I ever had a chance to do it way back when. As long as you mostly know what to do, it isn't very hard and probably the most fun part of both raids.

In reality 300dmg weapons can still compete against many 331dmg ones, Fatebringer especially. Will be interesting to see what happens with 300 vs 365dmg guns.

I love running raids and I always opt to be a relic holder, so much fun...
Vex is still good, just not as potent anymore. Fatebriger is solid, especially for the CE abyss. Corrective Measure is my go-to for VoG, even hard mode. Found Verdict is awesome now after the patch. Praedyth's Revenge is solid, especially in PvP. Praedyth's Timepiece is better now than it was due to the patch, but it's still a pulse rifle so it's love/hate. Vision of Confluence is still fantastic. Atheon's Epilogue is weaksauce until you use it against oracles. Hezen Vengenace is still a great launcher, but no tracking. Tracing is pretty important for Crota. CE normal mode is becoming a lot more fun, against Crota we have a lot more room for error now. CE HM is still really difficult. We have some guys in our group that can complete it under an hour pretty consistently. I need to run with them to get their strategies and timings... |

We ran Crota Hard Mode on saturday night, my first time ever doing Hard. Took us MANY hours (like 3-4 I wasn't counting), Crota alone was at least half of that. One thing going slightly wrong would mess up a whole run. Very frustrating fight since you spend half of it standing around doing nothing, but we got it done. Then we did Crota normal on sunday and holy crap it felt like a complete breeze compared to hard. Being a level 32 helped but it was so much easier. We still had a few issues at Crota because that whole fight is designed terribly but it's so much less stressful than Hard. Then we did Atheon hard and that also felt really easy. Confluxes gave us the most trouble (as usual) but we downed Atheon first try. Got so much loot from Crota: Oversoul Edict (pulse rifle), Abyss Defiant (auto rifle), Fang of Ir Yut (scout rifle) and Bane of the Dark Gods (ship). Missed out on the helmet and the Word of Crota, but I got enough that I don't need to do that raid anymore. VoG I got shards the whole way but scored a Vex on Atheon.

Sounds like you got some good playtime this weekend. I didn't get on at all. Is that your first time getting Vex? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it, the consensus online right now seems to be that Bungie has nerfed it into non-existence.
