Any feedback on the Z2 SS for our cars yet? Ideally in C-Street trim.
Debating between RS3 V2s or Z2 SS. |

I think the 245 40 17 z2 ss will be the fastest tire, it will feel like shit though. 225 45 17 ss is the best all around tire for CS brz

I'm curious what you base that statement on. Interestingly enough the 225 has a very slight tread width difference from the 215. I am supposed to pick up some 235/40 17 z2 SS this Friday from the tirerack warehouse and run them the following weekend. That's if this cursed business trip from hell I am on doesnt get dragged out even further...

Haven't decided on 40 vs 45 sidewall though, I need to run the gearing calculation for that. And it might be moot if the Rival S is as good as some suggest. Hope your trip gets better, I know exactly where you're coming from... |

blargh.
Why isn't there ONE TIRE YOU MUST USE and that's that? I miss the early Azenis days. Since I'm sure to be the slowest part of my setup I'm pondering RE71's, with the hope that someone can show me exactly how slow I am in a fun-run along the way (and therefore get a slightly better informed opinion of the tire out there...) If they maintain/improve on the good "less than ideal" weather performance of the RE11A, it might be a good tire for me here... or, not. 245 seems to be the overall favorite - is it time-to-temp? Trying to figure out if at any point a 255 is the way to go? (17x9) |

I think Erik (G Ride) is in your region now. Ask to ride along with him or let him take your car out. He is very good.
A 255 won't fit on my 17x7 so 245 is the biggest available for me. Can't comment on why or why not on a 17x9 |

I appreciate the praise, but I think I only did well because I had a good codriver. It really helped with the getting the car sorted faster and figure out how to best tackle that event's course.

There's an STX thread here that would probably tell you why nobody's using a 255. I would guess fitment issues or tire temp issues. That's a lot of rubber for a 200HP 2700lbs car with no aero.

255 can rub the spring perch. Becomes a non-issue with the smaller coil over springs
