I never got this argument. So, if I buy an expensive house, that means I need to buy expensive everything? They're damn pipes. If you can save money, and are still satisfied with the outcome of your investment, then how is that a problem?

Because it's not expensive, it's under $1000, why cheap out on something that will rust away and fit like shit?

They're also readily available on the second-hand market, I got mine for $400.

I have j2 dual that sounds awesome. Especially with OFH. 9/10 (fitment was a bitch, but that costs you maybe 30 minutes of time for hours of enjoyment), would buy again. Pipes r pipes, especially when they are past the manifold. would never spend $1000 on an exhaust.. you are paying a huge premium there

If that were the case then I would agree entirely, however, I have never had any issue with either rust or fitment with replicas. Maybe it was just me getting lucky, but I doubt it. I have gotten replicas on my 300zx, 350z, 3000gt, and now FR-S. The only car with a name brand was my EVO 8 running a HKS Hi Power Turbo back.

I have a Q300 and it seems to be of good quality. So I have no complaints.

I have a Manzo Q300 rep as well fits fine except the crush clamp they give you for the axle back... leaked some there, but easy fix @ autozone.

TBH I'm looking to tone down my exhaust. It doesn't feel right having a loud car that is slow in the straights (before anyone comes and says "should turn more" I commute 200 miles a day).

My 3-inch TBE wrx feels/sounds right and proportional to the power.

I wouldn't even waste money on the Q300 setup, even an ebay knockoff. Perrin is what I would have went with if I was in the market for a new system. GL with the hunt

i fully agree with you on the having the car really loud without the ability to back it up. i just want a bit more throatyness.

as much as i'd love to put a supercharger, header, the rest of the exhaust when i look at how much i'd spend i might as well just go get a ss or gt. and yes i do know those are different types of cars. i came from many years of a wrx followed by many more years of an sti. so i just wanted something a bit different and i found my brz for a good deal.

I got a spec d exhaust. Very unhappy with how it sits on the hangers. I learned my lesson though and a Tomei is on the way. Spend the extra cash and just get the real deal. You won't regret it.

Never cheap out on an exhaust people! Some might regret it and some might not, but better to be safe than sorry.

Glad you got a Tomei, I've heard only good things about them.

No, stock everything else. The only time I ever get rasp is before the cats warm up.

That doesn't make sense. $25K is not much for a car these days. Do you really think a few tubes and muffler should cost 1/25 the price of the whole car?

If you were talking about a $70K car I would agree with you. If someone has $70K for a car then $1K is pocket change to them.

If you want it to last, yes.
