Nissan 370Z. I was in lust with that car ever since it first came out in 2009; absolutely loved the way it looked and its performance on paper was quite good. So in 2012, I went out and test drove a 2010 Sport model with 20k on the clock. I was miserably disappointed. The engine was so coarse and loud and it didn't even feel that fast for having 330bhp (although at the time I was leasing a 2012 Audi S4 so that might've given me some bias). Then there was the piss-poor visibility and the sheer size of it. I was glad that the FR-S was considered more of the spiritual successor to the 240Z, because I used to own a 73 240Z and wanted the closest thing I could get to that car, just new.

Like I said worst car I've ever driven, I'd rather drive a Yugo. Edit: I'm in agreement on the 370z except I didn't go in expecting it to feel like anything other than a fat mans coupe, and it didn't. Edit2: In fact, pretty much everything that Nissan makes these days is a fetid pile of disappointing garbage that I wouldn't drive. |

Because how a car looks has anything to do with how well its drives...
Regardless, the versa that 90% of this forum knows and can buy sucks. |

no love for the 370 on this forum. I can understand people saying it doesn't FEEEEEEL fast. But it is pretty fast. I like to think of the twins as 8/10 of the feel of a Cayman s with 5/10 of the speed. Whereas the 370z is 5/10 of the feel of the Cayman with 8/10 of the speed.

Also, I think it was top gear (maybe car and driver? Something major) said the handling at track speeds at the top end was unusually unpleasant. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

No? Well then how fun the car is is far more important than random numbers it produces. 0-60 means nothing if it's boring and feels like an overweight turd. There's no love for the 370 because there's very little to love about it unless you're looking for an impractical sports car that offers non of the usual joys of a sports car while providing all the drawbacks. |

. I do agree it doesn't Feel like it easily change directions or feel as nimble as a light car, especially at low speeds, and I do agree it has a tendency to really understeer hard if you overspeed into corners, but I would say the car is decently balanced at the tire limits on the track, does pretty well for itself on a slalom, and is pretty lively in the mid corner when you have kind of neutral gas and at corner exit. I personally think there's a lot of reasons it makes a great sports car and I really don't understand the hate it gets. Maybe because the twins owners are still butthurt over last year's solo2

E90 330i and E90 335i. I drove the first expecting a truly great driving sedan and it didn't deliver. Felt heavy. The 335i was very fast, but again lacked agility. The 135i was a much more fun to drive car.

Like I said before, its preliminary specs did set the bar pretty high, especially with the splash that the 350Z/G35 Coupe made, except now we were looking at it with more power and less weight, but when it ended up not being as better than the previous models as we thought along dealing with fiercer competition this time around, it didn't impress people the same way it did before. |

Man people here really hate the Z.
I know its no show stopper but now you can pick up a Z with the sports package (upgraded brakes, wheels, suspension, rev match, etc...) for $30k. Take a FR-S Monogram or Release series which are close to $30k and put them against a Z on the track. The Z would win every category hands down. FWIW I came close to getting one but decided against it as it is just not enough to warrant me getting rid of my FR-S since I already own it. I will however be placing my order for a new sports car this Saturday and when it arrives will bid farewell to the FR-S. |
