If you are looking down, you can already see what gear you are in.

You need to activate it on the manual cars to display the gear in the same digital box as the odometer, mileage, outside temperature.

I am trying to imagine how the knob would know what gear you are in.
I dont see how it would work.

Even if you put an accelerometer in it to feel when you move the lever, the car moving around (cornering, braking accelerating) it wouldnt be able to tell.

So sounds like a dream to me.

Wouldn't it just be less distracting to drop a hand onto the knob to feel what gear you're in?

This is somewhat off topic but does anyone know if the AT and MT knobs are compatible?

I'm wanting to run a AT knob(without gear logo) on my MT.

No they are not. Why not get a replacement logo.

I was hoping to run the AT TRD knob since it only has the TRD logo on it.

MachV used to sell one. IMHO it was a tacky and not very useful. Why would you look at the gear knob for a readout when you could put that readout in your field of view?

It was electronically controlled iirc, something like rpm, speed, etc. calculated to guess??

I covered my stock shift knob in alcantara. That's as upgraded as it is going to get.
