Anyways, I might have already put the Raceseng Tug View on. I also might have cut a slightly larger hole than needed in the tow hook cover plate. Therefore no pics until I get another one and don't screw it up.

In the meantime, a friend of mine got me one of these:



and I new exactly what to do with it.

(I also got rid of the Rally Decals on the side windows. I think they were clashing too much with the rest of the car.)

Replaced my wiper blades with OEM Toyota Wiper Refills (25 dollars for both)...

I'm not sure which kit you got - I imagine the main bolt is mostly the same for all of them. I got the Grimmspeed relocation kit and you want to use a 1" drill bit (a step drill is even better if you've got that) which should be just right.

Anything smaller will be too small, and anything larger than that is unnecessary.


This was yesterday, so maybe I'm cheating a bit here, but I relocated removed my rear Scion emblem, and relocated the FR-S badge to it to cover up the holes, and clean up the rear a bit. I didn't really like the idea of re-badging it to a Toyota since it still says Scion, and Subaru all over various parts of the car, and I like the 'FR-S' badge, so I wanted to keep it somehow.

I wasn't sure if it would turn out right, but I'm actually quite happy with it after spending a lot of time trying to get it straight, etc. The lighting is quite awful in the picture, unfortunately, but you get the idea.



I also received my car's name badge from the promotion Toyota was running last year that someone here provided a link to. I thought the whole thing was a hoax (I think I submitted the form for it 7 - 8 weeks ago), but I was surprised when I got it, and I think it's unique (even if it is in the same font that the Camry badge uses) - I think I'll put it on the passenger-side dash trim on the interior .

Anyone else driver side window loose ? ..my window somehow got loose ..don't know why maybe cause of the cold weather and it got frozen on the trim for a second ..any quick fix for this ? ..

Take her in. There are a couple of TSBs for windows. The mech isn't very heavy duty so you may have stripped something.

Yeah I'd rather not bring her in and add rattles from them opening up the door panels ..I'd rather do it myself ..it's not that big of a deal ..it just wiggles a bit left and right when I push on it with the door open .. it weird though cause the passenger side is just fine

The window TSB gives you a pretty good idea of the mech layout and parts so if you take a look at that it may help you out.
After they did the weather-strip TSB on mine most of my rattles went away.

Hey is the weather strip tsb about the window pushing on the trim every time you close the window or door ?

That is part of it yes. They changed a bunch of stuff and it works way better. (and doesn't freeze up like some do either)

It's the Raceseng one, and I am some kind of special. I forgot I have a step drill. I was trying to make a bit more room than 1" with a dremel, so I could put a grommet on it. Ended up being too aggressive since I rarely dremel anymore and forgot how powerful it is. The step drill would've solved that problem.

One can also practice this technique by observing the mirror images while being slowly overtaken by other vehicles. When adjusted properly vehicles appear in the side view mirror before disappearing from the rear view.

Speaking from experience, for really tall people, the side-view mirrors cannot rotate out far enough to achieve this proper adjustment. This is the only time where @Bergen23's technique of leaning forward becomes necessary. Still, I do the shoulder check because I almost changed lanes into a big airport shuttle soon after buying it. Scared the shit out of me.

I have found for me that adjusting the side view mirrors so that the rear corner of the car is not visible when I am sitting straight up. But if I lean my head towards the side I can just see a sliver of the rear fender gives me the best coverage and a point of reference when I need it. With no blind spots.

This assumes a proper seating position (a totally new subject for debate) You should be able to grip the wheel at any point with either hand without lifting you shoulders from the seatback. This is not a Formula 1 car and you should not be laying back in it.
