automatic car washes

Just ran across this automatic car wash in brooklyn, which seemed great for a quick wash. Its fully automatic, and nothing besides water / soap ever touches the car.

Seemed great to get the winter gunk off my car... since its hard to do my own hand wash in the winter. (obviously ill be going back to my own 2 buckets in the spring) and relatively cheap 11 bucks.
its the mobil gas station on neptune ave off the belt parkway if anyone was interested.

Curious if there are any other places around NYC like this? specifically staten island, but anywhere else?

Wow, $11. The one here that sounds about the same is $6 for the most expensive option, "Double wash and wax."

anything is better than salt and dirt, but ask if the water is reused and if they filter it. Or grab a cup and take it home and let it evaporate and look for debris/calcium etc. Some people like Optimum No Rinse(ONR) as an alternative.

Environmental blah blah means that they do recycle and filter it.

ONR - Please don't go there...

This is nowhere near you op but if you are in south jersey area check out PRISTINE hand carwash in Cherry hill. Went there last week for the first time and was very happy with the wash. They don't use any automatic brushes. $11 bucks(including tax) is their cheapest exterior wash. No wax or tire dressing, just wash.

I used to live around the corner from them, but after I saw them carelessly towel drying cars, I decided I'd do without them swirling up my clear coat.

Interesting. That probably explains the circular swirls on my hood.

I'll continue my search for one of those self service carwashes. Do tell if you know of one in the area (south jersey)

I go this touchless place for winter washes off RT45 in Mantua. Not the best but good enough to get the winter crap off the car. If you live in the Cherry Hill area probably a hike for you but its the only touchless place that I know of.

Heres the place

My wife took her car (with towbar) through our local automatic car wash after i told her they damage cars.
I was wrong - One of the washing wheels got caught on the towbar while she drove out and it destroyed their car wash machine.
The worst part was cutting the tangled mess off the towbar.

When I was living in Cherry Hill, I drove to either the Whitehorse Road Carwash in Voorhees or the Route 130 Carwash in Pennsauken; they're both part of the same company. They have both a touchless and one with brushes and they're relatively cheap.

I live in Lumberton now and there's a touchless carwash almost literally across the street, which is pretty nice lol.
