Any issues with the gearbox?
So because someone changes somethimg, say the diff or trans to make it more reliable but still retains the fa20 means it isn't an FRS anymore?

Dude... Have you never heard of the term "supporting modifications" meaning, modifications recommended/required to keep a vehicle properly functioning after adding performance modifications.

There's a difference between putting a completely different engine in the car as opposed to upgrading a transmission to withstand the extra power...

So you're telling me, you'd rather buy 10 new stock transmissions as opposed to replacing the transmission once for something better like a V160/161? Your argument has no logic... I'll agree that engine swap does change the car though as your replacing the the powerplant. Anyways. I've stated my point.

Engine swap makes a hybrid that could be better or worse than original combination (engine + platform), plus mod AND supportive mods.

I change the final drive not the differential... Not an FRS?
Also change the radiator and add oil coolers... Not an FRS?
Aluminum drive shaft??
Add FI... Not an FRS?
As soon as I brake the tranny I will swap for something that could hold +600whp... With a FULL built engine (FA20), long block with everything that will be need to use the car daily as is today... Not an FRS?

I think it will continue to be an FRS, one with supporting mods to enjoy the car years to come.

As side note I'm not a fan of engine swap, but due to the massive amount of time and work need to make it work ok.

Thats amazing that the trans is stock. Our local shop that was running those kind of numbers were grinding transmissions all of the time it seemed like. And they are NOT cheap.

$1800 brand new is pretty cheap considering it's a new platform.

No, it was just a lot of power. They had 750hp to the crank I believe, or going for it.
