Drove home on the stock tires and I was constantly sideways for a couple minutes at the intersections. If you can, hitch a ride with someone else. It would be a lot less terrifying, thank god for traction control. I realized the importance of smooth shifting today.

I drove home on stock tires in Fort Worth (downtown to Keller) and it was a nightmare.

It took 2 hours, got stuck twice, had to be pulled up a hill, and the rear tires are gone from all the spinning.

What killed me was having to stop, while you are moving its just fine.

I had to bail off the interstate because it was basically shut down. I took beach street all the way and the two times I came up on a hill and got stuck were right after stops and I had no speed approaching the hill.

I'm very lucky there were some nice fellas out there in huge 4 wheel drive trucks and chains.

These are the responses I did not want to read, but expected haha.

Unfortunately I am working until 5:30. Hopefully traffic will die down substantially by the time I head home. The upside is that I'm parked in a parking garage so no window scraping necessary.

They started salting a couple years ago (they used to just sand), but DOT doesn't have plows.

It's rare for us to get this kind of snowfall.

I'm going to have to go out in it, but I'm in a rental Beetle and I work right around the corner. Girlfriend wants me to come over tonight though and she's in Lewisville...don't think it's happening.

Stock tires are terrible! Don't go up a hill if you don't have the momentum to make it up.

I ended up getting a ride home.

Yeah, I had money set aside for snow wheels and tires, but it looked like we wouldn't get this kind of weather this year.

I've got Continental dws tires on. Didn't get stuck once today and I've been out drifting since 9 am. finally inside with some well deserved hot cocoa.

I'm going out for another drift session tonight if anyone else wants to come with me.

Stay strong guys, be glad you live in a place as nice as Texas! :P We've had about 2 feet of snow in the last week and its well into the negatives with wind chill here in Central IL. It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to get out of the driveway every morning...

I think about dropping everything and coming back to good ol' Flower Mound every day of my life...

Took me about 4 hours to get home. FM1171 was a nightmare once you get closer to the 377 intersection. It was backed up for miles, complete parking lot. I had to u-turn to 407 with the help of nice citizens on their ATV's pushing people in the right direction when people lost traction. Once i got on 407 it was clear.

Haha indeed, I was hoping to be prepared with some snow or winter tires to help this time around but that didn't happen. Maybe next year I will but I may hire a WRX to do snow jobs while the twin hibernates :P
