Wow, bold statement indeed. I guess that imported Taiwanese Greddy kit knockoffs, Vortech, and a low budget ESC kit rival the numbers that Kraftwerks, Jackson Racing, Innovate (though now Sprintex), and pretty much every independent tuning shop that makes a turbo kit (ptuning, JDL, fullblown....) who uses EcuTek by default? I'd like to see something to back that up too.

I stated that I "would wager" that there are more OFTs in FI cars than there are not. This is based upon knowing how many OFTs we have provided to those running SBD, Phantom and Vortech kits. I would put that number somewhere north of 200 which is still less than 5% of all OFT users. But, as is the case with bets, there is always a possibility that I could be wrong. But I don't think so. No reason to get upset about it. If you beg to differ, it is noted

Just curious what makes you think tuners hate tuning with EcuTek?

I think tuning with EcuTek is awesome, with all of the features, power, and capabilities the solution provides to me for tuning. All the tuners I know that have used EcuTek are also very fond of the EcuTek tuning solution.

My statement was a bit of a reach and a bit general/vague, I will admit that. (to clarify) Mostly from what I have gathered over the past 2 years of ownership is that Ecutek is a great overall tool objectively but is also a pain in the ass to work with in terms of licensing and all that is attached to it, if that makes sense. Perhaps I am completely wrong though

There isn't a black or white answer for this.
I normally hate saying this, but use the search function/Google to look at what each tuning solution offers and whether or not it fits your wants/needs for your car/mods.

I know your trying to sell your product and make a sales pitch and put your product in the best possible light but that's not really true. For me, the torque dip was still very much present after I applied the OFT tune.

Btw OP, don't believe everything vendors tell you. Bottom line, they are trying to sell you a product. I've seen it many times from vendors here (oh, our turbo kit is super easy to install when the reality is its not that easy for a first timer).

Here is my dyno with E85 and the EL E85 tune. Big torque dip was still there.

They are lots of vendors on this site who are trying to sell their product. So they will present their product in the best possible light, making positive blanket statements about their product even though the positive statements may not apply to your car.

So yeah, these vendors are like politicians. Politicians twist the truth and make promises to get your vote. Vendors twist the truth and make promises to get your dollar.

EDIT: personally I think Ecutek is better. OFT feels a bit like a hacked solution, desktop software is buggy as hell. Open Flash Manager worked on one of my laptops but not the other. Rom Raider didn't work on either laptop. Getting Virtual Dyno to work with OFT is almost impossible (I never got it to work).

Sales and support for OFT seems like its one guy (Shiv). I know they have more employees but everything goes through Shiv it seems (it seems even level 1 support which is sort of ridiculous).

And I'm willing to bet most tuner shops out there are much more familiar with Ecutek because its a more established and more fleshed out tuning solution. Sure they could get to learn OFT but first they need to get the software to work on their computers (which isn't guaranteed) and then they have to learn OFT. Granted the learning curve is probably very gentle but its still there.
